He's not an exceptional player but it is concerning as he is the only midfielder we currently have that can pass the football.

Perhaps it won't be so bad though given our tactical instructions are bypass the midfield by Pickford hoofing it up to the strikers.

I know this is a common perception that he's some kind of deep-lying playmaker or good passer but his passing is no better than Gana's.

He can deliver a ball, like.

His shooting is better too which is even lower. Although I'm pretty sure gana scored more goals last season. 2-1 or something

I like Garner, but while it's a blow, it's hardly the world's worst news in that for all that Dyche likes him, it's not like he's some exceptional player.

It definitely means we need another CM ofc.

It also means that, if it is true, it's hugely on the coaches here. No way you should have a midfielder doing his hamstring in pre-season.

You’d have to guess it’ll be the new lad from Villa. He more than likely wouldn’t have featured but if Garner is going to be missing for a period of time, he’ll be pushed in to a starting role that they probably weren’t planning on giving him. He’s looked quite bright in the games so far tbf, let’s see how he does again today. You’d also have to think they’re searching high and low for a competent midfielder on loan.

I don't think it's going to be a drastic step down whoever replaces him tbh. To answer it'll probably be Doucoure

I think he's under rated generally he's not amazing but he's good at many aspects hoping he can kick on again this season
