He's still feeling his way into the league...we certainly need another CM not only to challenge but to give him and Onana a breather. I'd like us to maybe look at an quality 28 29 year old CM who's struggling for game time on the continent.

For me, id move on Gomes and Gana for £10mil combined and target Adam Wharton (Blackburn) or Neil (Sunderland) or Hackney (Boro).

Have to continue building a young squad that improves and develops long term on low wages (overall).

The other option like you say, or a Kalvin Philips would be worthwhile on loan till season end if we could sell the first two.

Gomes was meant to be going to Saudi £6-8mil or Turkey £4mil in the summer but wasnt allowed to leave.

Gana £2-5mil is peanuts to a Saudi club and would mean £10mil for the pair or not far off

I'd love Wharton in Blue...but I'd like abit more experience next to Onana and Garner this season,preferably someone good on the ball. I'd definitely be looking at Wharton summer mind.

I wouldnt have had Philips a week or two ago. But someone on loan till summer to help Onana/Garner may well be a sensible short term move.

However I'm thinking;

A: If a massive offer came in for Onana and we had a Wharton (or similar) with 6months under their belt it would be a huge benefit.

B: The wages of a younger player would be far less than a short term stopgap.

C: We need 2 new CMs as it is to push and rotate with todays starters. If we could sign one now and the other in summer or even both now it allows us to sell Gana/Gomes and hopefully get incomings before their values increase.

Just hope we have the Iwobi and Gray money to spend.
