2024/25 James Garner

The lad is a massive loss, the only reason people might question him is that we don't have a manager that can see and utilise his potential. Dyche can only see him as a cover player...

Dyche and the utilising of potential correctly, just doesn't go hand to hand.

Other then Pickford - Tarks - Branthwaite + Dom, everyone is really just a cover player in his eyes...

Dyche is terrible but it's not all down to him. People might question Garner because he's missed about as many games as he's played since coming here. They might also question him because there's been plenty of those games where he's looked bang average. As a club, we need to stop hyping players because they can do the basics correctly.

Sometimes it's about a player growing into his body...
Henderson had issues with his back until his mid 20's, it's widely reported as the reason why Ferguson didn't take him to utd....
He ended up being pretty much injury free till the end of his career

When your'e being played CM ( your actual position ) one wk then RB nxt few wks and then RW for a couple. How do you settle into your actual position and start showing the best of you.

Dyche does this to anyone, other then who I mentioned previously. He looks at a player as a usable asset, rather then his natural/best position. That will undoubtedly effect a players performance, not knowing from 1 wk to the other where your playing.

His injury record hasn't been great, but that doesn't change how Dyche looks to use players.

Why do you think Pickford, Tarks + Branthwaite are our most reliant players, cos they play in there set positions.

Pretty sure Garner did his back just after arriving initially as well.

Seems to remember a teenage Gerrard had serious back problems for a few years in his late teens early twenties.

Henderson I think it was about his running style causing the issues weirdly.

Hopefully you are right. He can pick a pass and both him and Iroegbunum will thrive under a footballing manager.
It gets said a lot but there’s precious little evidence of it. He seems like a competent passer of the ball but I’m not sure I’ve seen anything to suggest he’s much more than that. From what I’ve seen of him he just seems like a decent all round player, he can pass and put a foot in etc but I honestly think the best games I’ve seen him have are at right back.

With a different manager we may see a different player.
Under the previous manager players were given a specific role to play.
It was defensive, regimented and sometimes successful but always in a boring way.

Moyes is no Pep but he isn't Dyche either.

Let's wait and see what these players are capable of when possibly given a little more freedom to play.

In recent years teams managed by David Moyes have played some good football.

David Moyes has more or less been constantly in management since he left us so many years ago.

We are not getting back the same manager that left.
He will have learned and evolved as everyone does.

Hopefully for the better.
