I agree I think he could become a really good player. He's only 23 and not the finished article but his potential is pretty clear IMO. There are not many 23 year-olds bossing games from CM in this league. He's been playing under two of our worst ever managers, the first was tactically all over the place, the second just bypassed midfield completely, so hasn't been the easiest environment for young CMs to thriveThe lad is a massive loss, the only reason people might question him is that we don't have a manager that can see and utilise his potential. Dyche can only see him as a cover player...
Dyche and the utilising of potential correctly, just doesn't go hand to hand.
Other then Pickford - Tarks - Branthwaite + Dom, everyone is really just a cover player in his eyes...
He's a decent tidy player but doesn't exude confidence and seems a bit introvertedHe’s alright Garner, bottom half level centre mid really. Decent on the ball, ok physically in terms of pace/strength. He’s not as good as half our fans make out unfortunately.
This is exactly it, he’s alright. He’s just that though. A bit like your Seb Larsson types from yesteryear, Chris Brunt, James Morrison. Competent yeah but he’s not got superb technical or athletic quality. He's a decent tidy player but doesn't exude confidence and seems a bit introverted
or John Ebrell, I'd just like him to be more confident/nasty/drive the ball forward/shoot form outside the box...it's all a bit beige and bland and safeThis is exactly it, he’s alright. He's 23 and a work in progress. Still hard to say where's his ceiling is. He needs a lot of work on his shooting, too weak. He’s alright Garner, bottom half level centre mid really. Decent on the ball, ok physically in terms of pace/strength. He’s not as good as half our fans make out unfortunately.
I don’t dislike or not rate the lad he’s just a decent prem midfielder. He's 23 and a work in progress. Still hard to say where's his ceiling is. He needs a lot of work on his shooting, too weak.
But he's the best crosser of the ball out of this lot (which hasn't been properly utilised)
His positioning is good and underrated, he anticipates the play, reads the game well and invariably pops up in the right place, coming up with key interceptions and tackles. He compares to Gana is better on the ball with better vision.
Reckon he likes to play, move the ball round with attacking intent, create and pick passes but he's had poor movement in front of him. He's a better all rounder than the likes of Gomes but just hasn't had the chance to get in the swing of things
Im confident he's one of the players whose going to get us back up the table.
Needs the right partner in crime, Gana isn't it but maybe Mangala is.
Would like to see how how Tim and Garner would go either side of Mangala or a central enforcer.
Yep, a decent prem midfielder whose has my admiration compared to some of the absolute passengers that have been squatting in the midfield over the last decade or so.I don’t dislike or not rate the lad he’s just a decent prem midfielder.
Nothing to write home about but with better players around him he’d be perfectly fine I’d say.
If he can stay fit and get regular games he will be much better than a Chris brunt and James Morrison. Also in a proper functioning team with good balance he will look much better not the crap he’s been slotting into and poor tactics deployed. I don’t think he’s amazing and as you say ok but like I mentioned games and remaining fit definitely a good player in there but key is games and development. This is exactly it, he’s alright. He’s just that though. A bit like your Seb Larsson types from yesteryear, Chris Brunt, James Morrison. Competent yeah but he’s not got superb technical or athletic quality.
Definitely faster than his feet -- he couldn't keep his balance.Gerrard body was growing faster than his muscles
Hate to say it lads, but 23 isn't young in football anymore. Nothing to stop him improving, but if you're good, you're good at 23.
Have definitely missed him though, he can actually kick a ball properly, which helps.
