2024/25 James Garner

Hope he can put the injury issues behind him, he can be a mainstay for years for us.

Always could pass well but I love that he likes doing the horrible stuff as well, and he works hard. Reminds me of Reidy.

He would walk into that united side, miles better than anything they have now.

Im going to back Garner, to really evolve under Moyes and turn into a more creative and threatening player, i dont think we've seen the best of him under Dyches system and i think there will be plenty more to come from him under Moyes, expect him to blossom.

Since arriving he's just needed the right manager to tell him that's your position now going forwards. Think Moyes is that guy.

Funnily enough playing all year under Dycheball may have given him that bit of defensive grit I always felt he was lacking - the determination and skill has always been there just now he may be allowed to show it

In a game of margins, the balance for the midfield under Dyche was always to prioritise defence mate. What we have seen from Garner so far in his Everton career has been all that - that wont have done him any harm.

But the player we saw on Saturday, was the payer i saw when he was at Forest, deep lying, threat, creativity, breaking lines with passing.

He was let of the leash a bit.

Think we are going to see an awful lot more from him.

Actually see it in Idrissa as well.

Yup but he also seems to have that defensive side naturally there now. Which makes him a way more solid starter. We've needed another Gaz Baz and Garner has the potential to be that, but not the version who only had a couple of years left in his legs when he arrived, but a 23yo version of him.
