well we have been kicked in the goolagongs a few times in the past , so obviously we get nervous when our players are linked with other clubs

I ignored it because you were confused. I wasn't saying Everton had been mugged (Rooney WAS a mugging, but no matter). I was stating that IF they dont get £30M+ they will have been mugged.

Just seemed a strange thing to say, since there's such an absurdly small chance of a "mugging" actually taking place - when you consider we're known as a side people have to pay through the nose to buy from.

I'd agree that Rooney was underpriced, but since it was a decade ago, seems pretty safe to call it an aberration (and an irrelevant one at that, considering the relative financial situations of the club then and now)
