The club very sensibly does not comment on every rumour in the papers or they would be able to do nothing else.
It sounds like the agent is trying to talk up his client to improve his contract or to get a move.

First I thought this was a wind-up, then began wondering what kind of gambling problems James had. Then realised it was his agent that was bankrupt.

Hopefully his hammies don't act up again. Getting a contract signed would help stop all these other jarg rumours.

People need to understand, when you're negotiating contracts people will try and leverage you.

This agent of his has no leverage over us. Needs piping right down.

Thing is, this guy everyone speaks about is not his agent. He does not have a license.

Even more the case why EFC shouldn't bow to pressure from someone who isn't even with an agent's licence.

We have to act above that. Plus shouldn't allow what is essentially blackmail to derail proper negotiations.

The club should offer him a new contract or fckin sell him, why do they always make life difficult dragging these things on
The contract offer was supposed to kick in after a certain number of games which he hasnt reached yet, I read somewhere .

Let's give McCarthy a new contract. He's on 30k per week, isn't he? Bump it up to 60k. Then, when his agent asks for his fee,
Offer him £1. That'll teach the bankrupt sod

He won't leave imo but again the club is creating a negative feeling around the place which may result in dropped points in the season. The boards a joke, just give him a new contract and keep everyone happy rather than drop points like we always do for one reason or another at the start of the season which potentially costs us achieving something
