You can not judge McCarthy wilth the Ireland team as Ttap puts shackles on his midfielders. I am an Ireland season ticket holder and all Trap wants from his 2 central midfielders is to hold and help protect his defence. 2 years ago when we played Slovakia in the European qualifiers it was 0-0 in the 4th added minute of the game and 3 minutes went up on the board, we had a free kick on the half way line (we had not qualified for the finals as yet) the 2 midfielders looked over at trap as to say will we go up and he just shook his head. His whole philosophy is not about winning, it is about not losing. McCarthy I fell will take Ossie place and be exceptional. Gibson/Barry will hold and Barkley will play up top and McCarthy will be the box to box midfielder that we are crying out for.

The only way to judge him as an Everton player is when he is wearing an Everton shirt, he may prove to be a donkey who we spunked a shed load of money on, or he may prove to be (to quote the Sh!te) the final piece of the jigsaw, a talented ball winner with an engine that keeps possession and helps us build attacks.
My money is on the Kopite thing. The money has been spent now so we have to have some faith that the Manager knows what he is doing and watch the boy flourish.

not derogatory at all, everton obviously have better players than the Irish squad at the moment but as pointed out NO player in the Republic squad can be judged playing under that Frank Drebin/Hector from Breaking Bad absolute joke of a manager, in the job 5 years pocketing on average 1.5 million a year (which is very high for international standards) and the toerag doesn't bother his hole to learn two words of english nor does he bother to go and see any of the players live!!! At least he's finally getting the bullet hopefully today, good riddance...................rant over
 
I'm more interested now in what our midfeild is going to look like on saturday

McCarthy & Barry replaing ossie and felliani.. this is where they are really going to be judged!
 

i can;t access it it just stays blue, is that because it was live(sounds idiotic asking this) and obviously it has now finished? i feel a tit now lol
