James McCarthy

We needed a set of legs in that midfield when he came on. He provided them. Thats it.

Good sub by Bob who got everything right today.

That's why I'm pointing out his errors. Those saying he "did well" on the back of that cameo are saying so based on nothing.

He didn't do well. He was bog standard. Don't know why we can't just be honest about Everton player performances. Jelavic was dreadful today too. Barkley, Barry and Naismith were fantastic.

LOL Oh Tubey, ban yourself immediately please and stop being a knob.

Gave the ball away/ran into danger many times and dithered when in front of goal too.

Just providing some balance.

Every player makes mistakes. Difference is, Barkley was commanding for the first hour of the game, drove the ball, won free kicks, instrumental for the goal, a solid 8/10 performance... whereas McCarthy did nothing but do his best Joe Allen impression for 20 minutes.

Don't see the point in praising mediocrity just because they're wearing the Everton shirt. The praise should be earned.

So Barkley giving the ball away and setting up a Chelsea attack is fine? Jesus what a bellwiff you are

You missed the time he picked the ball up and drove into the Chelsea half with it then?

He came on, shored up the midfield, kept it neat and tidy and did what he was on the pitch to do.

He'll leave the Messi type runs through entire defences for next week.

What's he supposed to do in 20 minutes?

Do you really expect him to come on and start attempting Hollywood passes and taking the game by the scruff? Martinez obviously brought him on with clear instructions on what to do, hence why we swapped an attacker for a midfielder.

We were 1-0 up against Chelsea FFS, with us being heavily on the back foot.

Honestly, have a word.

OK fine, he's the new Pele, well in.

LOL. Good one.

You're making yourself look a bit silly here.

So you're criticising me for pointing out two errors from McCarthy in a mediocre performance, by pointing out one error from Barkley in an otherwise great performance. Logic lad, well done.

It's like it's blasphemy on here to have eyes and watch during a football match.

He gets round the pitch I'll give him that. He tried to pass it forward a few times which I always like to see to.

Daft saying anything else based on that today.

And some of them didn't come off. But when Barkley does it he's forgiven because he's our prodigy.

He'll be a good player for us, I'm sure of it.

What about the mistakes Barkley made? Yet you gave him an 8/10?

Unbelievable.
