McCarthy did well last night,but he is going to be better than that.
When he settles into the team and has the confidence to control the game he will be a very commanding player.

if you think of it as essentially swapping Rodwell for McCarthy thats a good way to. Essentially the same fees too.

...I like what I see and thought he had a particularly good 1st half. Saying that, neither him or Barry could get to grips with the French boy who came on. He not only scored a fine goal, but he ran the show and it is a little concern that we didn't manage the threat he brought.

The manager was moving people around. Osman and a few others tired in the second half. I guess the manager used his subs with a eye on man city
