the last couple of games were his first couple of games.He was playing in a new side, with a new manager, trying to play a different system.

to criticise him for being unsure is petty beyond belief

That wasn't really the point I was trying to make, perhaps I worded it weirdly. I meant more the defence looked unsure. But last night Barry and McCarthy dropped back a lot in the first half and looked to pick up the ball and take it forward

I love the little reverse type balls, little flick passes forward with the only intention being to unleash Barkley to run right thru the middle of teams towards there cb's.

Very good British player who has his head screwed on, not on massive wages, young enough to be a 10yr player for us and not one I get the impression that's already planning his next move.

Yesterdays game showed exactly why I have wanted us to get McCarthy for almost three years. Incredible energy, slick one-touch-passing, constantly trying to get the ball off the opposition without commiting fouls. Absolutly brilliant game!
