James McCarthy

McCarthy's partnership with Barry, on-loan from Manchester City, is likely to be key for the Toffees this season and manager Roberto Martinez has already seen positive things from the pair's work.

"I thought James McCarthy had a terrific partnership with Gareth Barry and that pleases you a lot," said the Spaniard.

"It allows you to build a good future for the football club."

To me he's an Evertonian through and through from a family of blues, he's getting on a bit and his bodys starting to let him down but he has played some good togger for us over the years and i think he deserves a bit more respect ffs.

He's Bern our Most consistent performer over the last decade.

His body doesn't allow him to play 90 min every week any more but what an asset to have on the bench.

Ossie has been great for us and ive said time and time again that in the past, when he played well we destroyed teams. Villa away when we won 3-1 and it should have been 8, him and arteta were unplayable.

I refuse to 5lag him off, his knees are letting him down now so i just hope he can be in and around the squad but not desperately needed because i would hate for the fans to proper turn on him.

We all have to move on and that applies to footballers as well. There comes the time when you have to sit back and let younger players take over

Was at the West Ham game and and it was a sad sight to see Ossie literally sat on his arse because he couldn't move any more at the start of the second half. The lad needs moving aside to avoid him getting embarrassed in the twilight of his career.

He will retire in June 2015 we were soft enough to give him a new contract less than 5 months ago. Why would he go anywhere else?

Ossie is as kopite as they come I don't know where you've got this family of blues story from.

On holiday in Marmaris, Turkey 2004 watching Everton in a bar with me dad, saw a group of people with Everton gear on also there to watch the match and got talking to them, turned out to be ossies mar and dar (his dad had an osman everton top on) and some other family and friends. Forget which game it was like but they all jumped up like proper fans to celebrate us scoring so i'd assume they're deffo blues now.

It's similar to Carragher, me dad grew up in Bootle around the same time as Jamie's arl fella who was a massive Evertonian and detested anything Liverpool and apparently even he has converted to Kopitism over the course of his lads playing career.

Will be our most important player on Saturday i feel.
You see the way Bayern pressed City last night, well, we'll need to do the same and James is full of energy and in the first half his pressing was superb. More of the same against City please, James.

I think with better players than the Fulham game around him, that sort of game works an awful lot better. Also, I may be being wildly optimistic here, but I saw the shoots of a fruitful relationship between McCarthy and Barkley. Him supplying the time and space for Barkley to do the damage.
