I thought he was our best player in the first half. His energy in the middle forced a lot of attacks to go out wide and develop slowly allowing us to get in shape defensively. Barry's red card may be a blessing as we can see The McCarthy/Besic pairing. A lot more pace and energy in those two. Hopefully this can free up our wingers a little bit.

I think Barry has been very good. Although I think for next season I would rather have him be our 3rd DM. Use him for leadership in our cup squad, cover for injuries and come on late to shore up the midfield with fresh legs. I think Besic and McCarthy will be our best combination of CMs.

I starting to feel we have been bit too harsh on him recently he is not great going foward but I have less.heart problems when he is playing def.second motm today imo. Unsung

Sometimes he's a hinderence going forward when the likes of West Brom come and sit 11 men behind the ball for 90 minutes, but he's probably the world's best at running round volleying people. He was everywhere today, great performance.

I didn't see it either, although I do remember seeing Terry with his head in his hands walking away, presumably as a result of this challenge. Will rewatch the game tomorrow and try to spot it!
