The fact he is poor in the air defensively, and has the ball skills and a pass that can open up an opposing defence!Based off what exactly?
When was this phrase coined, Toff?
And by whom?
In what way does he differ from a "number 10"
No it doesn't, at all.Funny how one good performance erases the match against Belgium just 4 days earlier.
An 8 is a deep lying playmaker if you will, with a bit of a license to get forward
Yes the one were her cut him in half as MaCarthy he is that slow - its payer style Payet I want In our midfield not a championship player which he would have been if relegated with Wigan!
There is a reason why Jeff Kendrick is playing championship football all his career so far, he isn't good enough for the premiership. He reminds me a bit of McLean, does well in a very moderate Irish team but will be shown up when he goes back to club football.
McCarthy on the other hand, who is more or less the same age as Kendrick has played nearly all his football in the premiership and if Everton decided to sell(which they won't) they would have no problem finding buyers.
Judging players based on tournaments such as this is not a good idea.
No he had one great seasonn whether he is playing on injury? Is McCarthy your new Howard Joey?
MoutsGoat on here, but I think it is a general thing as well.
Traditionally, the '4' or '6' would be the holding midfielder - the sitter as it were. The '8' would be the all-round player next to him tasked with getting up and down the pitch and linking play - as far as I understand it.
The '10' was the second striker, but as 4-5-1. That's for English football.
On the continent it's very similar, but the '10' was the traditional playmaker/trequartista
