You may have stopped reading before the second part of that, where he says "Poss others after this week in Austria". All three of them have been with Everton for years, Niasse has 60 minutes of game tape, so he might want to evaluate him further just to make sure hes rubbish.

I hear there's about 40,000 ready to confirm this

Copied from other forum - apparently in Mail...thoughts??

from the mail:

Stoke City have made enquiries about Everton midfielder James McCarthy. Manager Mark Hughes wants another central midfielder to add energy to his side and has been discussing a £12million move for Juventus midfielder Mario Lemina, who is also wanted by Watford and Red Bull Leipzig.

However, Hughes has also checked on whether Republic of Ireland international McCarthy would be allowed to leave Goodison Park.

Ronald Koeman is pushing to sign Axel Witsel from Zenit St Petersburg while Roma's Kevin Strootman and Sporting Lisbon's William Carvalho have also been discussed.

McCarthy played through Euro 2016 with a groin injury and struggled for form after a hamstring injury at Everton last season but is still regarded as one of the club's better players.

He was the subject of interest from Tottenham last summer before Bill Kenwright offered him a new contract. He has yet to return to Everton so is unaware of whether he fits into Koeman's plans.

happy days, get him out the door along with the other average players in the squad.

Id make him available for 15mil in current market. I think you would get a few lower mid table teams interested. No point in having a massive squad with out europa games. Leave some room for the likes of davies and ledson.

How quickly you've turned on James McCarthy. A true fickle Xfactor audience if there ever was one.

Let his new manager and coaching team work with him first before selling his hastily you plums. Where's the cries to sell Besic urgently?

Get a sleeve tattoo McCarthy lad, they'll love you from the Lower Gwladys then.

He's ginger
He's about as Irish as fcbarca was Spanish
He stinks of Wigan more than your fingers do after a Saturday night in wool land mate

So if you don't care it doesn't matter then? Close the thread mods.

He's also had more than one good season in his career. He's had plenty of good games for Everton over a three year period.

A year ago there were plenty fretting over the club not offering him an improved contract.

Yet we should get rid ASAP.

.....apparently RK likes to play a pressing game, so he might just want McCarthy. He's been disappointing but he's one who might have suffered under RMs tactics. I might be wrong but I noticed when he came off in the last home game and his exchange with Unsworth suggested to me that a weight had been lifted from him.

If he does stay you have to think he's got a fight for a starting place but that's what we want.

A weight has been lifted from a number of players upon martinez's departure not just McCarthy. You only have to see the interviews with miralles and Baines this week. They are really enjoying working with koeman, hope that's translated into them enjoying their football again and ultimately being back to their best.

I think Martinez was unwittingly damaging to McCarthy with his encouragement. As the tireless, ball-winning defensive mid who keeps things simple and allows more technical teammates space and time he's an effective player. However, he often looked unsure as to what he was supposed to be doing last season, and I think a big part of that was down to Martinez telling him he was a better player than in reality and trying to mould him into something he never was.

If he's encouraged to play to his strengths he can be a very useful player in the right team.
