Well, pressing and the absence of it all over the park was the problem according to the manager, so I guess he could have slotted in at any of the CM and RB positions.

It's two games on the spin that's been atrocious. Are we really saying that we have nailed on places for those who played well in a few games before them?

Gueye and Barry have overall been very good. McCarthy didn't press at all last term (albeit we know from his first season and a half he can do)

He has and he needs replaced now. Dunphy has never liked McCarthy though, he's always looking for a dig.

Sadlier's analysis is twice of Dunphy's and he at least talked his tactical role. McCarthy's fitness really will be in for a test here as his 2 midfield partners must go forward to try and snatch a goal from somewhere.
