Can't you at least let him blow his candles out before he has to rush off to put in "prime years" performances ? x
Just wait until his 30th, he'll have gone from prime to past it in the blink of an eye...He wasn't in his prime on Wednesday, though. What a difference a day can make.
Lads check this from the come forum, are Kopites even this bad!?
West ham user:
I feel the some, absolutely incensed. I've post a letter to James McCarthy C/O Everton FC. I don''t know if he'll receive it or bother to read it but you never know.
Dear Mr McCarthy
Your scissor tackle on Dimitri Payet was nothing more than a cynical attempt to take him out of the game or at least slow him down. I played amateur football in the 1970’s and 80’s and even I know what damage a tackle like that can do. You, as a professional player must know that and yet you deliberately tackled in a way, absolutely calculated to injure an opposing player.
People like me pay a lot of money to see footballers like Payet who is a one in a million player. Unfortunately players like you are ten a penny and with cynical tackles like that I feel you are not even fit to lace Dimitri’s boots.
How you, as a professional player playing for Everton, a club with proud traditions can look yourself in the mirror after Saturday’s game I don’t know. I hope you are ashamed of your actions but I somehow I doubt it.
I give you fair warning, I’m an award winning playwright (New York 2009). My next play is football related and now includes at least one reference to you and your tackle on Dimitri and pulls no punches.
I’ll be very surprised if you respond to this letter but would be interested to hear what you have to say. I suppose we’re unlikely to hear a media statement from you anytime soon?

I think that was partly because we didn't have two defensive midfielders, though. Barry was the only one playing a defensive midfielder; McCarthy was up playing next to Barkley.Guess we won't be hearing the "playing two defensive midfielders at home means we have no creativity" moan today.
Both McCarthy and Barry played well today.
True, but that isn't the first time that McCarthy has been pushed further forward in these type of games.I think that was partly because we didn't have two defensive midfielders, though. Barry was the only one playing a defensive midfielder; McCarthy was up playing next to Barkley.
was really good again today, made a lot of good supporting runs to the edge of their box as well.
Was allowed to be a lot more forward looking with Richardson being shackled by Del and Coleman
bit disappointed he didn't accidentaly pick up a yellow though to sit out his suspension against Bournemouth
