Transfer Rumour James Rodriguez

He's 29 at the end of the season. £50m would be far too much money for somebody with effectively no resale value. Rather goes against the model we are supposedly looking to operate - i.e. buy under 26 with decent resale value and room for improvement. Give him half a season of the Goodison groans when he takes too long on the ball getting used to the pace of the premiership and we'll have a 29 year old on £200k a week "desperate to end his Everton nightmare".....

On the other hand, that goal in the world cup though. Phwoar!
It’s 35 mil not 50

stil a lot for a 29 year old.. however if we can market him well we could get £1.50 bk in shirt sales

Apologies, I felt I had read 50 somewhere the other day. I still think that combined with the wages he'll be on (instantly by far our highest paid player) it would be a luxury / vanity signing. Also, the idea of Everton marketing anything well......

We have 3 young forwards and also a giant centre back...they could all benefit from a player with exceptional passing ability.

Whether thats this guy or someone else...*

*Sandro Tonali

Ok lets go for a non hyped up player in the English market.
Danny Ings maybe ?
McNeil from Burnley ?
Lets see what €40 mil (£35 mil) gets us eh.

Both would represent better value, especially the latter
