Sounds like everything reported is pretty accurate.
James is happy to leave. He'd be happy to stay.

Benitez doesn't think he's worth the wages (fine), but must surely realise he's still by far the best of what we have right now.

It's just crap that we're hiding him away and somehow our fans will never get to see him at Goodison.

He's also really, really good so I am baffled why we wouldn't use him.

They'll have to come up with another excuse for the Leeds game.

Ah well, at least we get to see 2 GKs on the bench again!!!!

He's tweeting away to Mina about not getting a game and there's time left in the window to leave Everton.

What does he have to do, pull his kecks down and defecate at the foot of the Dixie Dean statue to get stick from some?

I'd be embrrassed if I were them. I've seen real star players at Everton winning real trophies, so this feller doesn't even register for me.

A mercenary looking to get his next massive pay day and he's hoodwinked a load of fans to back him.
Source?

I can only find this:

Yerry - “I want you to stay here, we're going to make history."

James - “We are at a club that is not the best, but can compete with anyone… I want to have a good season whether here or wherever."

Expected and reported. This is exactly what Everton should have expected when hiring Rafael. Just would have hoped they would have moved James much sooner - this just looks bad for everyone at a time when Rodriguez needs to be playing and Benitez needs to be building some rapport with fans.

Milan and Porto now just waiting for this to get uglier so Everton will lower it's fee demands.

I suspect James’ wages are a bigger barrier than our fee demands right now. Of course we’d like eg €20m but we’d take anything north of zero if push comes to shove to free up the wages. Obviously the nearer it is to zero the less we can do to replace him.

We finished 5th and 7th in the last 8 years...are you saying you;d rather we had what we had last season and finished 10th?

We got more points than we have since we finished 7th last season.

The point being...if we had a player like him, in those squads that finished 5th and 7th...we could've finished higher/got more points due to that extra quality.

We have zero quality apart from him.

The contempt and hatred that Benitez has for James comes through with every answer he gives about him, it's so obvious.

If Benitez talks like that in the pressers, imagine what he's saying to James in private?

For all those saying James has a bad attiitude and is unprofessional (which I don't see at all - he's the opposite on twitch and any other time he speaks to the press!) Why on god's green earth would any player want to stay where they are clearly not wanted by the manager?!

Absolute shambles, and the manager is a duplicitous snake.

...you want to start talking about points? Are you sure? :coffee:

The manager is a man who believes in a team ethic where everybody must work hard and nobody is more important than anybody else. That doesn't suit Rodriguez. However it does suit what Everton has always been about, and what we need to get back to, so we don't get outworked by teams like Leeds, Fulham and Aston Villa.

You’re right we’ve been out worked far to often in recent years and needs sorted. For me that’s been our pathetic midfielders that have been out run, out battled time and again. In the forward line we’ve got DCL and Richie, two hard working forwards - we can afford one player in the team with a bit of craft and guile with an eye for a pass.

No problem wanting to make the team more solid. If we bin James, as looks likely, and don’t bring in a creative passer then don’t come crying midway through the season that we’re lacking quality in the final third.
