The Spurs team under Poch were miles better than the Everton and Arsenal sides those pair were getting in mate.

Im just saying none of us have watched him on more than a few occasions so cant be having meltdoons over the lad when he's played for an often top 4 side and been capped ten times for England - how many caps does skateboard kid have?

Seemed to be in agreement previously when I stated that neither Davies or Winks are good enough.

Years of mismanagement has destroyed their ability of rational thinking, now we have a kopite dinosaur as manager they think its a good fit
Really sad times, I thought I'd hit rock bottom with bisto tits and piss goblin, but this is worse.

Thing is, you don't need to think rationally in relation to James, you only need your eyes to watch him play football. He was one of the few bright spots last season, sadly wasn't able to stay fit, but when he played, we played better and things happened in an attacking sense, that we just aren't capable of with that other crabs in the squad - the Richy goal at the pit for example.

If he's fit and available, he plays, 100 times out of 100.

There is no need for debate, and the backing of Benitez is shameful from some blues on this.

Thing is it has fit. He directly contributed to 15 goals in 26 games for us last season. He's in no way been a failure.

It's just classic Everton to rip it all up and throw the baby out with the bathwater. We did it with Rooney after 17-18 when arguably he was our best player that season by some distance (and James is better now than Rooney was then).

The issue is his fitness but we knew that going into it, it's why we were able to get him. Not one squad of the teams we'll be competing with has a player of the difference-making quality that James has, but we're going to throw it away.

It's not that he might leave that's disheartening either, it's that for some reason it looks like we're not even going to try and make use of him while he's still here.

Hes a good player.

He badly wants to leave and it looks like this will probably have a negative impact on the rest of the team. I am not a fan of Rafael but you can't have a toxic player around who is slating the club all over the media and is pushing for a move.

Its best for all parties if he leaves as he clearly doesn't care and wants to move.

As said, numerous times by the absolute weirdos, his talent doesn’t matter

I’d never thought I’d see the day that so called Evertonians would be turning their noses up at one of the greatest technical players of a generation

All in favour of someone who runs a bit. It’s mental

Completely agree mate, we knew we would be lucky to get 30 games out of him last season, we got 25 . I'd rather have him for 25 games than most of the clowns at this club for 38 and I'll die on this hill

Its a little bit more nuanced than Benitez fans v James fans

We cant play James 100 times out of 100 because we know that would cause him injuries or he would get knackered. Thats kind of the issue. People say build the side around him but thats not going to work because he can only start half of matches.

I cant get my head around how we appointed this manager but I see all the issues with James too. There are no easy solutions with a player with constant injuries.

I also think it probably all boils down to the fact he'll want to leave because Ancelotti left. And any player who wants to leave should be moved on because I'm fed up having players who aren't fully committed here.

If he is fully committed then obviously we should keep him. But I think its most likely he wants to leave.

I dont want Winks mate! He's a slightly above average player but until you wake up and smell the coffee that we haven't the dough to bring in a CL quality midfielder you'll never be happy with any player coming in this summer.

Any improvement on Gomes/Delph/Davies is acceptable in my eyes.

Looking for the positives, I’ll take this as the manager backing himself and his tactics/system . Effectively he’s saying clearly that it’s his way or the highway , he must also be aware that if it was possible he’s loaded even more pressure on himself for tomorrow .

i’m scrambling here like .

Its the ones that are "fully commited" but really crap footballers that are the real problem , we cant shift them & has been a problem for a long time.
But we keep doing it and get saddled with rubbish players on very healthy long contracts.
Its the main reason we are in this mess.

Fwiw he has stated he is quite open to wherever he will be playing whether its here or elsewhere.

Quite true the staemnets you have made. I have said this many times the only way we can get rid is when the contracts expire, no other club will come in for that deadwood even Divvy 2.

Look at Tosun he won't go unless we pay up his contract and give him a free that is the nature of the deadwood we are stuck with.

As James I would like him to see his year if Bentez will give him a chance I hope. James might want to leave but there have been no enquiries I am sure.
