He missed the final game because he wasn’t fit, as proven by him not being able to compete at Copa America. Unless the Colombian national side are in on this mystery too?

Thing is it has fit. He directly contributed to 15 goals in 26 games for us last season. He's in no way been a failure.

It's just classic Everton to rip it all up and throw the baby out with the bathwater. We did it with Rooney after 17-18 when arguably he was our best player that season by some distance (and James is better now than Rooney was then).

The issue is his fitness but we knew that going into it, it's why we were able to get him. Not one squad of the teams we'll be competing with has a player of the difference-making quality that James has, but we're going to throw it away.

It's not that he might leave that's disheartening either, it's that for some reason it looks like we're not even going to try and make use of him while he's still here.

We should be making it work, he's not only our best footballer but he also has high commercial appeal. Yet, he's deemed as not good enough for us.

Wake up man - we haven't won a carrot in 26 years, we're on a limited budget this summer, haven't qualified for Europe in 5 seasons, have a squad with a huge mentality problem and you're doing nothing but moan moan moan that we couldn't attract an elite level manager and sign worldie players.

James only came to Everton because of CA , I think that is agreed by everyone.

Last season Carlo protected James, played him when he felt fit and made excuses when James wasn't up for a game...... I don't think that is too controversial either.

I think James got treatment from the manager that no other player got and was certainly closer to the manager than any other player in the squad.... that is what brought James to the club in the first place. But, I can understand if that annoyed other members of the squad.

James started the season brilliantly but as the season moved on he became far less effective, but I think we may need to look at the manager as well to see why that happened.

If Carlo stayed then James stayed, but as soon as Carlo left then James did not want to stay at Everton but unfortunately for him there does not appear to be clubs around that want him or can afford him.

The new manager certainly is not the arm around the player type of manager , reading reports from players that worked with him previously he is very demanding and always wanting more.... that is what made him successful and the teams he managed successful also.

James , like all great players, has an ego and at the moment his ego is bruised and he is passing comments on social media that would best be kept to himself , he is a professional and should act accordingly.

I would like if he could stay and contribute but I think it is clearer each day that won't happen, but equally clear that for all his talent and ability there is a scarcity of clubs that are willing to take him, including CA at Madrid.

Why do clubs not want James ?

It's a fair point, but the thing is our team ISN'T devoid of quality, they are just not drilled.

If as you say they don't put in the required effort the place will be taken by eager youth or further, hungry re-enforcements in Jan.

The effort was lacking last season because it's well known players can take the piss out of Ancelotti on that front.

We are very much devoid of quality and with Richarlison having played right through the summer in two international tournaments, the idea that he won't have a massive slump or injury early season is madness. There is no way he makes it through the first three months of the season without needing a break or having an injury. You don't get hungry reinforcements in January and by all accounts we can't afford them anyway. As for youth, we haven't produced a youth player of note since Rooney.

The idea that this group of players turns their work rate around just because Rafael is in charge is I believe nonsense. They know he will get it from fans long before they do, they know they can down tools again and see the manager cop all the flack, so they will do it again, it's inevitable IMHO

Eric Dier has played 45 times for England would you have him playing for Everton played over 200 games for spurs too. He is utterly crap. If Skateboard kid as you call him played for Spurs he probably would have some England caps. He is basically Everton’s version of Harry Winks.
