So impressed by him!
Got to be between him and Ball in regard to our most naturally gifted (outfield) footballer ever. If we can get 3 more years of that I'm going to look like this:

You mean you don't now?lol
Kevin De Bruyne made me love football when Everton was going it’s absolute best to make me never watch it again in the dark days of recent years. He is utterly superb and I believe he will go down as one of the all time PL greats. (He’s already firmly there for me)I've loved De Bruyne ever since he was cutting up Bundesliga defences at Wolfsburg. He's a wonderful player, satisfyingly grumpy to boot. This idea that he has somehow achieved stuff that James hasn't is nonsense, however. How many Champions League titles does he have? Two less than our Colombian for starters. How many World Cup Golden Boots does he have? One less than our Latin American magician. Domestic titles? James has them in Germany and Spain. KDB failed at Chelsea and rebuilt his career in Germany. He has been magnificent at Manchester City in domestic competition, but his Champions League impact has been minimal. James sits very comfortably in his company and compares very well with him.
What James must do now is be consistent with Everton. That's his challenge. But would I swap him for the superb Kevin De Bruyne? Not for a moment.
As I said in an earlier postThere has been a sense that English football has become more cosmopolitan and less parochial since the likes of Wenger and a stream of sophisticated continentals came to the Premier League and revolutionised the game. Yet, even today the old inward-looking contempt can be detected. Take James. This lad is world famous, a superstar footballer, yet many people were "unconvinced" by him when he signed for us. Now, if you've been paying attention over the last seven years or so, you'd know James was a magnificent footballer. The only question, really, is would he settle into the culture, the English way of life, and cope with the climate. As a player, he is elite. To listen to some, he was just a pretty face. In a handful of games, he has already installed himself as a leading light of the league. But then, why wouldn't he? He's a class above pretty much everyone in this division.
If he can settle into the environment, and has a bit of luck with injuries, we're going to be watching an all-time club legend. The early signs are spell-binding.
As I said in an earlier post
If Carlo and James stay for 4/5 years and James settles it will be forgotten that he played for Real Madrid or Bayern Munich
It will be James Rodriguez of Everton and Colombo’s fame
It may be far fetched but I can see him being mentioned in the same sentence as Dixie
In 50 odd years watching Everton he is genuinely the most naturally talented player I have seen play for us
I was only a kid when young was hereYep, although Young also had to contend with choppers and hackers.......
I find myself laughing at James. Laughing at the pure brilliance.re Kevin De B comparisons it's worth remembering that he is playing for Pep's Man City. Just look at what that team did for Sterling's form. Whereas James is producing world class togger for a team that was literally stinking the place out 3 months ago.
We have a World Class player on our books and it's surreal to watch this lad play in royal blue
I only fully realised his brilliance when I saw the footage of the cam that only switches on when he gets the ball. His contribution is breath taking. When you compare it to the slops we've been watching, it's like seeing Diego Maradona come out of retirement to power Everton to the league. And you can see the impact his charisma has had on the youngsters in the teamI find myself laughing at James. Laughing at the pure brilliance.
Kanchelskis and Lukaku are probably the two most "effective" players we've had since the 80s.
We've only seen James play 5 times, but it's fairly clear to see that he's the most gifted player we've had in absolutely years. I'd accept the Rooney shouts, but there's something absolutely magnificent about the elegance with which James plays that I've not seen in an Everton player before (I'm 39). He makes the game look incredibly easy and everything seems to be played at his pace. He is genuinely a pleasure to watch.
My Dad said he is the most gifted player he's seen play for us since Alex Young - my arl fella can be prone to exaggeration at times, but I thought that was quite telling nonetheless.
