Think there's just something different with James, you can see it, can't necessarily quantify it. For example someone like Phillip Lahm who was the best and most consistent full back for a decade, I wouldn't necessarily say he was an undeniable world class talent.

Obviously it's a category that always lends itself to forwards and #10s.

When James gets the ball the game is then completely played at his pace. There really aren't many players in world football who are like that, like probably less than 10.

Yes that is undeniably true, and none of the other players I described had that(maybe Rooney aside but then he quickly lost that at United although he was more consistent)

James has the same quality Zidane had, no pace or power but his technique is so good that players just couldn’t get near him. Similar to Messi now just walking through games. Not many have this at all, even De Bruyne still needs his pace to have an impact. Pirlo was another one who had it. It’s very very rare.

interesting to reference Pirlo
As he gets older he could Even play deeper Or still play wherever he wants with faster stronger players around him

Excellent players are like the writers of first class prose. You just know in your bones that such and such really knows how to write.

Incredibly rarely do you find a poet. And great poets are rarer still. I could be proved wrong but it strikes me that James is a poet with his football and could become one of the greats.

To me , it feels like dropping a world class player into a midtable team and seeing them show why they are world class.

Most people would say James is past it and never really showed this potential for a good while but the player I've been watching is magical. Whether he can be consistent we will find out but a player who has the ability he is showing us , he is right up there with any other midfielder in Europe / the world.

More players of his ability should go to a club to be the main man, Neymar is an utter tit and I can't stand him but I respect him for leaving Barca to be the main man at PSG.

You mainly see it at international level, James for Colombia obviously, Alexis Sanchez was like that for Chile, now Salah is for Egypt, Bale for Wales.
