Is he our first world class player, in the prem era ?

At one stage .... southall . Best player in the world in his position at one point and that’s not debatable the only debatable thing is if you think he’s the best ever or not and I would say he is without doubt the best keeper since 1980 but can’t really comment on keepers before that

In the Premier League era, Kanchelskis for me. Rooney obviously also world class, though arguably not in the times he was an Everton player. Southall yes, definitely world class, but again arguably he was past his prime when the Premier League era kicked off.

I always love when a team shithouses for the entire second half like Chile did only to give up an equalizer and then acts incredulous when the team trying to see out the draw does the exact same thing. Anyway get James, Yerry and Richarlison on red eyes tonight and lets get ready for Saturday.

Early Rooney could grab a game by the scruff of its neck and anger bang it into submission. James caresses the game, and sensually cajoles it into doing what he wants.

Correct James is more of a pick her up in a limo , wearing a suit , go to a nice restaurant and seduce her with compliments and make her fall in love with him in a single night while being there the next morning and leaving her satisfied

Rooney is the kind that rocks up half cut and smashes the back doors out of a grand mother , isn’t there the next morning and leaves her unable to walk for a week.

Yeah was saying southall as he played in the prem era and was once world class and Is one of the all time greats if not the greatest. Just that his peak wasn’t in the prem era

What in God's name...

Probably not the right thread for this, but a home win and an away draw against a good Chilean side, that's a decent start for Colombia's World Cup qualifying, no?
It is definitely a decent start, we are third on the current standings after Brazil and Argentina, but a win would had been much nicer, of course. However, I knew this match was going to be hard. Rueda, Chile's coach, is Colombian so he knows our game very well.

I would argue that Colombia should have won. Not enough to be a penalty for Chile on the 1-1. Colombias goal that was invalidated should have counted. Ref didn’t even go look at VAR.

OK Toffees, us Colombians can finally breathe. Very complicating game against a very good team. I must admit that as the time was running out I was saying to myself, "how can we be losing this game." The second half was all Colombia. The good news is that a tie in the qualifiers away from home is always a good result in South America. The other good news is that James played the whole game without injuries. His first half was pretty bad, to be honest. He should have gotten a red card for stepping on Alexis' ankle. He simply was not connecting, but I attribute that to the way he was marked. Remember that Chile's coach is Colombia and coached to Colombian team so he knows James. The second half James started to find open spaces and his game picked up. If I was rating him I'll give him a 7. I do think that Mina did not play for precaution. If this was any of the last four games of the qualifiers you bet that he would have played. I think he felt something, and with the game against Liverpool he probably decided it was best to skip this game.
