It isn't about whether he works hard or not. I will make it clear here I absolutely adore Hamez, he is without doubt one of the most talented players I have ever seen pull on a blue shirt. His first touch, ability to find space and passing ability are second to none.Thought he worked very hard tbf, not at his usual creative self but still played an inch perfect killer pass into sigurdson that should’ve been a goal and had the 4th most touches outve anyone on the pitch
He has been tried as a 10 though for Bayern and Madrid and it doesn't work. Hamez loves to start wide and cut in, it creates space because the full back cannot follow him in. When he plays as a ten he gets passed on between the centre backs and their DM.Again, the biggest issue with him is we have no idea how to really fit him. He SHOULD be central as we wouldn't get pulled out of shape but he's mostly wide right.
Undoubted talent this lad but we are having to carry him & it's costing us...
We are not strong enough to afford this luxury, the plus does not outweigh the negative throughout the season as his lack of fitness is costing us & exposes a big weakness in our team, take that as well as the injury problems he will most definately accumulate then the negatives will be in abundance...
I know this will not be a popular opinion but I feel it has to be said...
That nutmeg for siggy in the last minute was nawty as F.... no other player we have had in the prem era would have spotted that pass never mind have the balls to try it never mind the quality to actually execute it ... should have won the match right then but siggy [Poor language removed] was a Carbon copy of his last minute chance against Man U last year
That's essentially what he's doing right now. Richarlison just holds width on the left a lot.free role behind a front 2. Fill in the team behind him accordingly. He's James10 ffs.

Defensively the issue is when we turn the ball over, and he has moved inside we get outnumbered
