Re watching on MOTD last night they showed the bit where Richarlison did that wonderful trap of the ball, left defender for dead and hared towards goal, DCL dragged three defenders with him but there was no way he could receive the ball so Richarlison shot. In the background
was James with a huge open space in the penalty area with no other player there but he wasn’t moving into it just walking. Top top players who are fit would have been moving into the space and screaming for that ball. I like him for his sublime touches and his undoubted talent is good enough to keep him in our team but there’s a reason he’s not wanted by the top clubs of Europe anymore.

Idk about that. Many times he has come into space asking for the ball but Richy takes the shot anyways.

Also, in 2019 Bayern wanted to keep him. It was James who decided to leave.

This is an excellent example of the difference in quality between Rciharlison and JR. JR plays with "head up", and has almost always oriented his body position correctly. This means that he almost always makes the right choices. Richarlison is the opposite of this. He looks down at the ball, and often has a wrong body position. This means that his field of vision is limited, and as a result he more often makes wrong choices.

Mo Salah plays for one of the teams who press the most, so of course he does his defensive work.
You asked who isn't allowed to track back and Salah does not track back.

James is more than adept at pressing but we are not a pressing side so this is not a skill that is utilized.

Just for the record, James attempted more tackles than anyone else on Saturday. Yes he didn't win a high percentage but he is also not a defensive player. At this point to claim that he isn't doing enough is just flat out wrong. That's the reality.

And it also needs to be pointed out that teams don't play bad because of their good players. Stop trying to blame one of the few people who is doing his job.

From a thirty-second google search.

You actually think that a clip of him running back because he's in position to stop a counter is the same as tracking back to cover the flank in normal play?

I'd prefer if you next post just answered that question so I know if I need to waste my time responding again.

Salah is their quickest player so if they keep one player upfront when they get players behind the ball then it is Salah. When they do that though Firmino drops off which means Henderson or Wijnaldum can cover their right flank.

When Hamez doesn't track back then we end up two players light because DCL role is to stay up top. That means one of our midfield three gets pulled out of position, and we get trampled on the counter-attack.
