Was chatting to a former chelsea player today. He said chelsea never like going to goodison and reckoned that without James we might have a better chance against them. Work rate wise. We need to try to figure out how to cover him going forward. Teams will counter it otherwise. James starts every week for me.

I think he needs to play as a 10. Go same starting 11 with Hames for Sigurdson (harsh given how well he did tonight) and just give Hamez free reign. Let him float around and pick up those second balls from Dom. Playing him on the right is ace going forward but there are glaring holes at the back when they counter. Iwobi has done really well on the right these last few games and with Holgate behind him they kept a very productive chelsea left side quiet today.

If he is fit for the next match, does James just waltz back into the starting lineup? Wouldn't seem right after the lads put in such a solid performance to win against Chelsea and register our first clean sheet since the Spurs game at the start of the season.
Can see him eased back on the bench Wednesday and starting again next Saturday. Dont think he'll start both
No. They hit the post 3 times and we created pretty much nothing. Great result but playing that way doesn’t get us points every weekend.

But I dont think he will (or should) start every game this month. We need to manage him over the holidays and thankfully we look like we found a way to grind a result without him.

We limited them to long range efforts mainly. Yeah we rode our luck a little, but we were much more organised today. I thought we did well.
