He's only missed 5 so far.

Chelsea H
Leicester A
Arsenal H
Utd H
Sheff Utd A

Those games all crammed into a 19 day period. Obviously missing tomorrow as well so that's 6 on the spin....unless you were counting the games he missed after the Derby as well.

He played 11 out of 14 matches to start the season, dropped from 2 squads in the first 2 rounds of the league cup and missed one game away against Newcastle.
 
Imagine how much melt down would be in this thread if we hadn’t just won four league games on the bounce!
He’s the best creative player I’ve ever seen play for us but he’s injury prone and misses games. What more is there to say?
Was just watching the DCL 2020 compilation and the ball over the top for Richarlison to square for a tap in and the right footed pass in to Coleman to square for another tap in where just on another level to anything we’ve had in my lifetime.

The amount of sitters missed from his boss balls as well.

If that goal had stood against Leeds we'd be talking about it for years.

He's levels above what we've had for years and years.

I genuinely believe that if you put James in for Gylfi and Allan in for Davies and everything else stays the same we start winning three or four nil... and that’s without even thinking about Digne coming back in and he’s probably our best player imo!

Okay my addition is slightly out, he will miss WHU and if City game had been played it would have been 7.

It is not a question of time but games played or not.

Check out the post by sassycolombiana few pages back.

The games after the Derby what were those?

There is no doubt when he does play, he can turn a game. But equally Allan is a valued player.

Interesting just because I raise a point, I get crapped on yet DaveK talks of James having his Xmas holidays and he gets away with that.

I wasn't crapping on you mate so apologies if you think that. I don't think it would be worth my time replying to Dave if he thinks James was given Christmas off because he doesn't like the winter lol

Rodriguez missed one game after the Derby match which was Newcastle away, though you could see he wasn't right at Southampton away.

Definitely Allan is valued as well mate, all the top players are and it's important we have them all back and fit as quickly as possible.

Rodriguez obviously has some kind of niggle which is keeping him out but tbf I think we all expected there would be times he would be out injured. If we can get him on the pitch more times than not then we'll win more matches than we lose.

It's a nonsense point though, that's the issue. He's missed 3 weeks with an injury, yet you're making out he's a liability and we are better without him. It's bizarre.

And Dave K does not "get away with it". If you take that serious then you might need to cut down on the Baileys.

I wouldn't risk anyone against Rotherham - have DCL, Richarlison, James, Doucoure on the bench if needed but play a 2nd string who should still win on the night.

Even if we lose im not fussed this yr - all about top 4 for me as the money can change the club and allow us to build on this season next year with some more good signings.

What concerns me is this..

James not been fully fit since he arrived & watching him play looks only 70% fit at best...

How many games will he actually play for us due to injury...

He is injury prone & has old injuries that appear to be reoccurring...

He can not put a full shift in & we have gaping holes in our midfield when he plays causing problems with our defence...

If this continues throughout the season you have to ask the question : Do the positives outweigh the negatives...?

In my opinion the answer will be no...

The flashes of brilliance will only be brief & intermittent...

He will spend most of the season on the bench or on the treatment table....

Ah come on Mate, we are both blues, For me it is not about weeks but games that is the important aspect. At no time have I made out he is a liability if you look at one of my posts I said there when he played he could turn a game. I stand by that, he really does need to be rested to stop these niggiles and come back fully, yes fully fit.

As I hope Digne and Allan will do.

PS never touch Baileys but Famous Grouse now that's another matter.

So lets leave it there, okay with you?
 
No need to rush him back and risk further injury seeing as we are winning with a solid defensive set up and Gylfi playing the best he ever has for us. When he comes back into the team the tradeoff is we are more vulnerable.
