He won’t be afforded the same kind of space against Leicester and we won’t have the same kind of possession for him to run the game.

I’m confident he’ll deliver when he gets the opportunities though.
The beauty about being great at corners is that you always get them, and launching them into the box is the same regardless of opposition.

If he wasn't thinking it already. Gilfy must be thinking he wants a move. Playing in the same side as James badly shows him up. He was bought (for 50 million) to be a slick passer and a dead ball specialist. James was pinging all manner of completed sexy passes all over the shop, hes corners where accurate to perfection. Gilfy hitting passes to soft or hard losing many. Corners from the left side where atrocious by comparison. Almost pity him. The embarrassment of it.

Yep. Put those two balls in against any team and your going to create opportunities. Those 2 corners were at pace, inswinging and right in between 4-8 yards from goal which is where all the chaos happens.

Gylfi actually put in a couple of similar deliveries from the other side for a change. He didn't put his usually crap floated ball in but hit it in with pace, inswinging and hit a couple of good spots. It looked to me a change of tactic and that he'd been told to change his technique.

I thought his delivery was much better yesterday (except the one where he could have rolled it back and for some reason he fire it across)

Honestly, go back and you'll see Gylfi actually put some decent balls in yesterday, very close to the area where James was hitting at will

Yeah one or two it was the fault of the players not getting into it for sure. Was better than his normal self. But compared to James like

Chalk and cheese compared to James but I wouldn't expect anyone to come close to doing what he does.

His care for the ball, weight of pass, vision of whats around him and how the game unfolds is 2nd to none.

I thought that was Gylfis best game in a while and got involved in quite a lot of the short intricate passing in the final 3rd.

Still only 29 as well. We’ve got a top class player for 4+ years here.
And the beauty about his age is. It's perfect age. Hes in his prime. If he was 22 or so he would be a lesser player and destined to only get two years out of him if we are lucky. This age we get his best years and we get him longer.

I think it's clear Carlo trusts him more than most of our other midfielders. Think for better or worse he's staying.

Pointless to still be getting hung up on his price tag. His detractors are waiting to attack him every bad game he has but he's actually had a good season. He's a good squad player at the least - hopefully with more signings next year he makes more sub appearances rather than starts. Near bottom of my 'get rid' list anyway.

His influence since his return cannot be denied.

The pass through to Doucoure to win the 3rd cup tie.
The over the top ball to Digne for the Iwobi goal against Wolves
The absolute masterclass yesterday

He is so far away our best player its not even funny. What an absolute joy and privilege to have him. He may have joined because of Carlo, but you can't deny Brands role in that it's the best transfer deal we have ever done - FREE.

He cost £27 million pounds less than Cenk Tosun...
