If he had all this added to what he's got he wouldn't be anywhere near us, he would be ripping it up in Madrid still. If he was just a little bit quicker, and his right was as deadly as his left, he’d be the absolute, ultimate footballer. Without the added foot speed, he’s only just about perfect.
If Carlo wasn’t here, James wouldn’t be here.
Only the 3 players around him as he weights it perfectly through to Richarlison, just another day at the office![]()
SiggyProbably only Richarlison would try it, might get it right a couple of times in 10 but that just shows how good James is and how brilliant it was.
Haters will hate. It's what they do. Best leave them to it ladsVery intelligent contribution well done.
What you saying now losers?
yes you are correct! .. the last 8 pages of this thread before the derby was so toxic.... and you will actually realize a lot here in GOT don't like James but yes James cant please everyone.... but they are probably be in hibernate mode now and will only attack again after James dismal performance.... hopefully not so soon!Looking back at this thread over the past day...... Seriously some of you need to realise what we have wearing a blue shirt.
He's a Columbian Prince with magic in his left foot. He justified his inclusion in under 2 seconds of the 90 minutes.
There has never been a player in my lifetime who can play a through ball like Rodriguez in a blue shirt. I'm 45 in a couple of weeks...... Sheedy, Rooney, Beardsley, Arteta all had great feet and vision...... This lad is better than them all at seeing the picture and executing a pass of exact measure.
World class.
I said similar yesterday, he isn't the player to grab the game by the scruff of the neck and drag us up in standard, but he is the player to make good players play better and great players shine. Now Allan and DCL are back, Davies has found form, I expect to see more of this from James in the next few weeksJames, rightly, gets the plaudits this morning for his exquisite control and pass - the hallmark of a class footballer - but had Richarlison missed the chance, as he has so often done this season, we'd be saying James was quiet and had little impact. This is the point all season with James: he is a magnificent player, decisive, penetrative, and consequential, but if he is surrounded by poor quality or players ouf of form, well, there's only so much that he's going to be able to do.
Richarlison's control and finish were superb - but he hasn't been at it at all this season and we have suffered as a result. In some ways, James is a microcosm of Carlo, somebody who operates at an elite, rarefied level way above the standards of his colleagues and who, therefore, is always battling the odds - or at least will be until we can support him with players of better quality.

Agreed. I see consistency as a defining attribute of quality, though. Lots of players have the ability to have a good day, but only the best do it regularly. As you say, we need more of that kind of player. Then watch James service them by weaving his delicate and lethal passes in areas of maximum devastation.Or more consistency
