He clearly signalled to the bench he wanted to come off, problem being our bench was dross. Maybe should have put King on and moved Holgate into midfield in hindsight.

We are a one player team. Imagine if we didn't have him this season.. won't have to imagine next season, he'll surely be long gone from this joke club, and good luck to him

I saw that too. I sure hope it is nothing serious and he was just being extra cautious. We definitely lost some depth after he came off.

Too bad James 100 goal wasn't enough to give us the win today.

James Rodríguez returned from his injury with a historic goal against Crystal Palace for matchday 30 of the Premier League. The Colombian, who had not played an official game since February 20, scored in the 56th minute with his right.

The play began with an attack on the left wing of Everton , Lucas Digne enabled Gylfi Sigurdsson who finished with a right but goalkeeper Vicente Guaita managed to reject with his leg. Seamus Coleman took the rebound, settled down and was assisted by James, who entered the area to get a good right at the near post . The Spanish goalkeeper was left without reaction.

With this goal at Goodison Park, James reached 100 since playing in Europe, it is also his sixth goal at Everton , a team he arrived last summer from Real Madrid. He had already scored two goals against Brighton, one against Manchester United and one against West Bromwich, all for the Premier League.

James' 100 goals in Europe
James landed in Europe in the 2010/11 season when Porto bought him from Argentina's Banfield for just over 7 million euros. In the Portuguese team he scored 32 goals in 3 complete campaigns.

Then he went to Monaco, a club where he scored 10 goals. After the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, he signed for Real Madrid , scoring 37 goals in two cycles . His other 15 entries were made in two seasons that he was on loan at Bayern Munich.

Porto: 32
Monaco: 10
Real Madrid: 37
Bayern Munich: 15
Everton: 6

He really is a different class to what we have, but without just a couple of others on the same level we aren’t going to see what he’s really capable of I fear.
The number of times he had to drop back to pick up the ball from the defence was poor, the lack of movement in midfield is shocking really.

If you go back and watch the sequence we score on he's both the one getting the ball off the defense and moving it up the field and the one scoring. We can't expect him to do that all the time. Only Messi does that all the time. Someone needs to take the burden of moving the ball forward or creating/finishing chances off of him.
