When your own players block the keepers vision. :)

JR is a fantastic footballer, but he is not relevant for any top clubs in Europe. The reason is simple: He lacks the necessary intensity in his game, too often slightly injured, and is too expensive. If we are to build a competitive squad, he is the type we must steer clear of.

Did you not watch the last few weeks when JR was out of the team, and Everton couldn't create anything against bottom half teams? Then he comes back and all of a sudden we had a ton of chances.

Look at the gap available, and he’s on his wrong foot. World class. There’s Siggurdson staring at him after he’s missed himself from a yard out with the whole goal to aim at (again). Take a look at the player you will never ever be Gylfi.

And the ball ended up between the keepers foot and hand... I don't even know how. The keeper had the bottom corner covered with his foot.

Well, that's part of the problem, and what I'm saying.

Just a different level of quality to the rest of them. Have to say it was a bit disappointing to see him taken off after we rested him for a month 'to make sure he's 100% for the run in' though. If he's not going to be 100% anyway then there wasn't a lot of point resting him really.

Amazing man.

Guy comes back and plays well and somehow he is the problem

Wow
As the situation is now, then of course he is not the problem. The problem is that Everton have become dependent on a player who plays only half of the matches. In addition, AD has been given a special task in covering the rooms that JR is unable to cover himself. The problem is the strategy of recruiting players like JR and Allan, precisely because of the factors I mentioned earlier.

Agreed. I think he needs to be 100% fit just to avoid injury to be honest. He seems to be the type that has to be fully fit and playing once a week in a rhythm (as he was at the beginning of the season). As soon as that’s thrown out he can’t seem to trudge on at 90 or 80% without incurring another problem or without having the risk of incurring it if he plays when tired at the end of games. Annoying but seems to be how it’s going. Hopefully a full pre season next year might help out in that one.

Had a great game yesterday, a cut above everyone else on the pitch. Some of his touches were laugh out loud good.

He is wafer thin off the ball - so easy to pass around - which is frustrating, but please Everton fans do not let that cloud your vision. A generational talent who we are lucky to have.

Depending on James and recruiting James are different things no?

We got him on a free transfer. We are lucky to have him because he has helped decide matches and get points for us.

Now I agree that you can't depend on a player that is as injury prone as James but that's a different discussion. Even if we had a more complete squad, which we should have, having a player like James is a benefit, not a detriment.

Whether it is starting or coming off the bench, that level of talent makes a difference

He sent half the palace team out for hotdogs so often, utter class.

Sometimes takes a while to get going...just like Messi does....takes times to scan the pitch, find the space left by certaiin players etc.

I think he works harder off the ball than ppl say....its one of them lazy throw away things say about players theyt dont watch...but once heard a pundit say it.

He moves more the Gylfi.
