Compare to Ozil for instance in his decline - James appears more effective than that type of 'luxury player' and we can see that through assists and goals in the limited time here. Can't wait to show him the love next year. Anyone who shouts 'Terrrrnnnn' or 'Clear itttt' or something about him tackling or tracking back should be banned for life. When we have a settled team, not like this injury [Poor language removed] show we've had this year, he'll be brilliant.

A very good picture of the spatial awareness of JR, and that he sends the pass in just the right space. There are not many people better than him in the world here, apart from Pirlo and Zidane.

Okay, I'm going to stop nagging about JR. Kilbane, yes I remember him well. Have unfortunately seen worse players in the Everton kit. And, yes, I do enjoy watching JR play football, when he's fit.

Of course, we must use creative players, but they must also be able to press, and do so with high intensity. They must also be able to run home and join in defending their own goal, when needed. So that the opponent does not get a numerical advantage. If anyone saw Mahrez against PSG he was phenomenal there. There is, of course, something completely different against Burnley, where City totally dominate. To take Chelsea and Tuchel, there are not many matches since he replaced Hudson-Odoi because he was too bad in this phase. Good opponents punish you right away, if not everyone does their job.

I get what your saying but without a truely creative outlet a team becomes penned in under increasing pressure. I remember watching games where everton at home would not get a shot in. With the whole team back. But no creative outlet on show.

1) he works less cus has less space to cover... 5 midfielders vs 4 or 3. and 2) he is NOT a superb defender... he lays a hand but is not equally asked to defend in the same quantity as is aked from him to attack and generate goal chances.

btw i dont like james that much i would use another colombian there. jsut saying: if you want him to deliver , "shield" him with a sistem full of midfielders , just like other players similar like him.

Yes I know what you mean about Mahrez, sometimes I think to myself, he’ll be next to be subbed, then he comes up with a goal out of nowhere and gives City the edge in some big and vital games.

I was refering to Kevin debruyne . Aparently for some folks here he is the Blonde versión of young gatuzzo/makelele on the work department..

Nah , Carlo didnot do him a favor , he is first and mostly defending his Seat on Everton. He brougght players of his trust to do so.. so not a favor at all . Just another tool..

On the pitch aside, I think Rodriguez is huge for us. He's key to developing our name in the Americas, something that will pay off long term. Also when trying to attract young players, the chance to learn from a player of his ability will be a draw. If he plays over 25 games a season it'll be a bonus imo.
