So he’s too tired to even sit on them bench and come on for the last 20mins! Yeah great player on his day, but just another player taking the mick out of us... Can’t be arsed with him anymore

I desperately hope I’m wrong, but suspect he’ll be gone in the summer.

The most purely talented player we’ve had play for us in probably 30+ years, and not a single fan has gotten to see him play.
Doesn’t get more Everton than that.

Not necessarily, we don't know the facts.

If the player has said he's tired or implied they don't fancy it or whatever, then the manager is spot on to leave him out. We have enough uncommitted players with poor attitude. James Rodriguez is not bigger than Everton.

He can make his own mind up whether he wants to stay and fight for the team. If he's not committed then move him on, I've had enough with players picking and choosing when they are bothered. I don't care who it is or how good they are.
In my mind, strong management is saying no, you’re playing / in the squad. This is for the fans, for the team etc. And you sort out any issues after, whether that’s going your different ways or staying at it.

And the irony is, we’ll go get our winger, full-back, a ball-carrying centre-mid.

And then we’ll be missing that little spark of genius

If this is the case then why is he not on the subs bench. It doesn't make much sense and I don't like it.

Same reason King wasn't on the bench after getting a "little knock" in training? Medical staff now being super conservative after our dreadful injury record this season?

Maybe I'm coming at it from a different angle, but if I'm a manager who just watched my team play like that on Sunday, and a player comes up to me saying I'm feeling tired, then never in a million years am I putting him in my side.

That said… I’m going to hold out hope that we genuinely are just being very conservative with him. Let’s be honest, the season is over… given his injury record etc an argument could be made for not taking risks in games that at the end of the day won’t mean much, in the hope of having him for more important games next summer.

Doubtful, I know
