Looks like that coach of Colombia is building for the future and picking a younger squad and not going off past reputations.

If anything this should give James a kick up the backside, James will be hurt from this.

Everton benefits from this, could see a fitter focused James as he wants to be in the World Cup in 18 months time.
We could see a fitter focused James!! He’ll have to go to Lourdes,———-twice——————-a week ————during the close season.

When fit, when has he not done that?

We all knew he wasnt a guaranteed 40 game starter; thats why he is here, not at RM. But to this observer, when he has played, he has been terrific more often than not.
When fit, when has he not done that? Well the Fulham game for one, very poor performance, then threw his hand in and asked to be subbed.

11th in terms of chances created...https://www.premierleague.com/stats/top/players/big_chance_created

He has not been a game changer.

11th in terms of chances created and he only played half a season? Not bad is it.

He has been what should have been a game changer in many moments though. We just were far too reliant on him and paid the price. That isn't on James - that's on the management and recruitment and the other players.

World class performances? Is that what you've seen from him this season?

About a couple of halves of football he's been the best player on the pitch. That's it. He was anonymous for most of his time on the pitch.

The likes of Beardsley were football Gods in comparison with that lad.

Having watched both. rodriguez and beardsley are/were a level above the rest of their team mates. Both in feet and head. Same problem years apart. To many average players not on their level.
But got them for very different reasons. Beardsley because of the stupidness of souness. Rodriguez because of his injury record.
But this club would still benefit a lot from 20/25 games of rodriguez with better players around him. Spurs at home last month was painful. He was a level above every blue shirt around him. It did bring back memories of beardsley at Everton playing alongside stuart barlow and peter beagrie.

Not sure why there’s bad blood against James. He’s our best player by a million miles. He’s played through the pain barrier numerous times this season to try and do stuff in games for us. Let a be honest he’s the only one of the midfielders/wingers who really made an impact in the big games especially the two derbies and United away.

So he wasn’t fit for the last few games of the season and he wanted to give himself the best chance of being fit for Colombia. Wouldn’t anyone else do the same? Not sure why some call it karma because Colombia have made the choice they have.

If only all our players had the quality and desire to win if James then we wouldn’t be in the mess we’re in. He’s done more in a handful of games this season, even at half fitness, than Gomes Davies Bernard or Iwobi have done in their entire careers with us.
Because Everton fans don't like good players. We can't get our head around them.

Those you mentioned giving dedicated service gave that over many years.
Ancelotti has been here for 18 months.
How and why are you comparing the two. What's he supposed to do. Jump in the tardis like Dr fecking Who and put 5 years instantly on his time here.

In 5 years time if DCL is still scoring 16 goals a season I'll worship him same with Carlo/James if they lead us to a top 4 finish or win a trophy.

Until then they have much to prove. The Carlo worship has been embarassing at times considering we've finished 12th and 10th - he would have been strung up if he was Bistro Boobs at certain points this season.
