If he goes then we need to get a fee for him which if its the MLS would be a best case of $10-15mil.

Then we would need to replace him...how do you do that?

With Ancelotti's buyout and James' fee youre probably looking at £20mil in the transfer 'warchest'.

If he stays and plays 25 league games next season with the added incentive of having to perform for someone other than Ancelotti and proving that Colombia were wrong not to select him then we could really reap the benefits.

Just need to build the first 11 without him in mind and when hes fit then he brings the stardust.

We didn't get a big compo package for Carlo

We'll just have to see what happens won't we, Zat.

No point thinking about anything other than the manager now, ultimately.

Depending what happens with Kane, I wouldn't be surprised to see bids come in for Dom this summer either.. Said it before but in my mind he's a 30-goal a season striker for City with the chances they create.

….I can see City being interested because he could provide something they were clearly missing in CL final. Saying that, the likes of Aguero & Jesus are clever goalscorers. DCL isn’t that type.

DCL will get on the end of crosses but I’d see him being very much a rotation player at City, particularly being used in games against well disciplined, tight defences. Looking at Chelsea in that final, I also think DCL would’ve been effective for them.

I don’t know if James will even want to stay without Ancelotti. I just hope we get a decent fee for the player if he goes.

I think it’s quite obvious he isn’t going to kick a football for us again mate. We will get a nominal fee if anything.

Thing is Eggs, that's how top clubs treat players, really. They are all 'rotation' at some point. OGS, for example, has cocked up by overplaying Fernandes earlier in the season and he looked well worn out by the end of it.

Anyway, hopefully we get to see James in an Everton shirt again!

Hope James does, talented for sure, no application. Beckham was overrated but he put a shift in. James is similar but no application. That wage can be better spent.
Maybe it’s just me, but I would love to have Beckham playing for Everton. He was a winner and we definitely need more of those.

Do you not think City create so many chances because they play pretty much without a striker? They have the extra man helping create.
When they play with strikers, both Jesus and Aguero are capable of scoring goals Dom can’t.

Pep will want someone far better outside the box than Dom IMO.

I agree with your assessment. But Pep probably disagrees, he is basically not very fond of strikers, and especially not typical target man. Kane is probably more interesting for Pep, as he is more effective in the space between the opponent's midfield and defense.

They played with a striker for all of the other seasons under Pep and created tons of chances, though. Think how many goals Sterling has scored in previous years that have just been tap ins. He's not a great finisher and never has been but was getting 2-3 chances a game that would count as 'sitters'.

I don't think City will go for him, I think they do want a more 'all-round' striker who can score loads of different types of goals, yeah. But it all depends what happens. They're going to get a striker, so it depends what happens with Kane, Haaland, maybe Mbappe.

Many of Sterling’s tap ins involve him running with the ball and making a good decision with it moments earlier.

Possible Spurs would go for DCL this summer though.

@Sassy Colombian , apologies if you've been asked this before, but will you be sticking with The Toffees when James inevitably departs this summer?
Ha, I’ve been asked this before and the answer hasn’t changed but I will be glad to share again with you @Furey1878

I’m sticking with the Toffees even after James and Mina depart. Ever since I began following the club I’ve become very fond of the club’s history, the fans and this forum so I’m sticking around. Once a Blue always a Blue :)

I’m actually going to Orlando next month to watch Everton play at the Florida Cup.
