I don't think he's the only creative player in the world but I do think he's in a class of player who never in a million years would sign for Everton. He only came to the club because of Ancelotti and may stay because his injury record is not desirable.
It's all a matter of opinion but I'd take him for 26 games over what ever creative player Brands and Benitez will sign for 38.
As for the goodison crowd. There's plenty of belters who gave Lukaku crap. I mean, if we're going to sign players based on a few clowns who get a dopamine rush out of thinking they're a football pundit rather than a fan, there's not much point to any of this. (that second bit was directed at Miff)

It’s just people who have nailed their colours to the Benitez mast trying to justify selling our most talented player. If RB had said he was building the team around James, they would be saying it is a Rafael masterstroke.

We do not know what is going on behind the scenes. There's obviously a lot we do not know.

JR, injury-free and fit, is obviously a very good player, but some here overestimate his skills enormously.

I'm pretty sure that Xavi and Pirlo, for example, would be by far the best players at Everton when it comes to passing a ball, but football contains far more variables.

It is well documented that JR does not exactly score high on these variables, and in the world's most intense league, and for a team that desperately needs to appear as a unit, I can understand the thinking of those responsible.
