He’s amazing, being chased out the club by the fat dinosaur, we won’t replace him either.

It’s not as if he single handedly carried us last season is it, we weren’t any better last season when he did play. As good as he is I honestly don’t think we’ll be any worse off for losing him. Plus anything that reminds me of the previous dinosaur’s horrendous time in charge can leave without a flicker of emotion from me.

No

Cant handle the rough and tumble of the big bhoys league so has decided to flee back to sunny Spain to sit on Athletico's bench.

And people wonder why Benitez doesn't trust the lad - away with him and pray we get a fee bob to reinvest in a RB/wide player.

He is a luxury player that we simply cannot afford to carry.

Nobody is doubting his ability, just his heart, desire and overall input.

For the very same reasons, I hope we don’t do anything stupid like then bring in Coutinho, that would just be another square peg in a round hole situation.

For one mate, please, stop saying 'Athletico' - it makes you seem stupid. It isn't a word.

If he does go to Atletico, surely the shouts that he's some lazy diva with an attitude would be proved wrong, unless Simeone - who wanted him a few years back - has got it absolutely wrong?

Actually, yeah.
We will miss James Rodriguez because our current options are nowhere near his quality and neither are the players we want to bring in (or would be able to) to replace him.

It won't be the end of the world. It'd be a massive shame that we couldn't find the best way to use him for the last year of his deal. And the main issue is the reason we have to ship him out is because our DoF has failed in one of the main jobs he was tasked with back in 2018, which was to shift out huge earners who contribute nothing.

Our most creative player last season by a mile on barely any minutes, should have had way more assists if our forwards could shoot. The only player in the squad capable of unlocking deep defences. Once he’s gone our creative players are Android Townsend and Digne woooooo.

Don't forget Dwight McNeil for £30million :)

Well there you go. What makes you think he’d get more minutes this season? Think he had 2 assists from open play all season.

He'll be getting 10-15 minutes off the bench and a few cup games under Simeone - no way he plays every week.

Soon as Ancelotti left he wanted out and his fanboys have been taken for a ride thinking Benitez has chased him out the club.

He still played about 70% of the season. He’s devastating on the field and you build the side around him doing damage when he’s on and have a similar younger player on the bench to replace him.

Best player we’ve had since Rooney first left, best player you’ll maybe see here in the next 10-20 years.

You don’t know what you have until it’s gone and all that.

Well in that case we should miss him horrendously and finish way further down the table.

I don't think Benitez has chased him out of the club. I think Benitez would use him if he stayed. I think James is happy to go but probably also happy to stay and play out the last year of his deal if no offer came in.

We - the club - want his wages off the books. That'd be fine by me if he contributed nothing, but he doesn't, he's our most creative player by far and as I proved with the numbers last week was more creative than all of our current options, plus our priority attacking target, pretty much combined last season.

I don't hate Benitez for it. I think Benitez is working with what he has for the season and he's a manager who, I hope, would get James into the team should he stay. But the club are in this position and that's what bothers me. It's been run so badly financially, that instead of trimming the fat, as we should be, we're going and getting rid of a genuinely world class player who is on paper the difference between us and a few other squads around us.

The whole situation annoys me. And it's self-enflicted.

He deffo wouldn’t be happy to stay. He utterly hates the Premier League. Imo he would’ve left even if Ancelotti stayed, him leaving just rubber stamped it.
