Anything over £1000k a week is distasteful for an entertainer who essentially kicks a bag of wind around a park for a living.
An average player earning say £20k a week earns more in two weeks than most working people earn in a year.
So rather than pretending to be affronted by one players overly generous salary let’s just accept the whole pay structure is grotesquely obscene and we are equally complicit in accepting it.

If there’s pace, movement and runners around him, he’s an asset with his vision and passing range for sure.
He’s also the only player with any creativity, guile in the team so could well be useful when we play teams that sit deep against us so can’t rely so much on pace in open/broken play to create chances.
In this squad he could be very useful, no doubt, just not sure Rafael will use him. Cutting his nose off to spite his face if that’s the approach he takes.
