This whole charade of making out James to be the root of all our problems yet keeping Delph , Gomes , Davies ,Iwobi & Tosun has spectacularly backfired here.

Benitez ,Brands et al now look just what they are Snake oil salesmen.
Cant wait for the detailed excuses to come out.

You reap what you sow as they say.

TEAM JAMES STILL WITH THE E,V.

Go smash it James , if the fools will let you.

Has to now pull his finger out and earn some time on the pitch just to get back in his national team and keep up his social media and sponsorship profile.

Really happy he’s staying. He might not fit in with our work ethic, and he might not have a great attitude or be the best athlete. But he has a touch of class that nobody else we have does. He is an exciting player to watch, I’m looking forward to seeing him again, whenever that might be. Hopefully he feels like he has a big point to prove, and we reap some rewards, that remains to be seen.

Made up he has stayed. Hopefully he will work harder and try and get in the team. He will certainly make our bench stronger even if he isn't fully match fit and being able to bring someone of his quality on to try and change a game is a big plus.

I'm afraid they are facts.

James is a poor brand image. He cant be shifted. He's like a huge white elephant.

Down to Ancelotti this one and Brands for agreeing to the wages.
Hardly a huge white elephant. It’s one season and he’ll be gone. Our problems have been giving 3/4/5 year contracts to players who flopped massively and we’ve been unable to shift them until their contract expires. Three years for Delph, terrible. Four/five years for Iwobi. Four years Bolasie. The list is endless. A two year deal for James wasn’t the worst deal we’ve done, he contributed last season, might not this season but there’s an end in sight unlike some of the torturous sagas we watch season after season.

I reckon he will play a bigger part for us this season than most seem to think.
He is undeniably a top talent.
Despite the fact that he clearly doesn't particularly want to be here now that Carlo has gone, he has now GOT to put the effort in to prove that he merits a chance elsewhere.
Benitez is not stupid, he won't just cut James out of the picture.
As far as I'm concerned it's a win win situation for the club.

PS This is in spite of his £800,000 per week wages
