Did that at Madrid calling him out for his lies, and Benitez is holding onto it like the arrogant kopite he is.
Was it not the case that JR was not considered to be in good enough shape to play matches yet, which JR publicly disagreed with. Later now he was allowed to play, Rafael was very critical of JR's efforts, and was benched again because Rafael thought there were other players who were in far better physical shape.
Zidane also had the same problem with JR, and the same was reported under Kovac in Bayern Munich. Most recently, he was left out of Colombia's squad because he was in poor physical condition. Something JR himself thought was completely wrong.
There is an obvious pattern here. It is quite strange how some supporters fail to see this. All professional clubs pay extremely close attention to the physical condition of their players, and they test pretty much everything that can be tested, and nothing is left to chance. All matches are analyzed in the smallest detail.
So it's not like Rafael, Zidane, Kovac and the Colombian national team coach just feel that JR is not in good enough shape, or that he is not running enough, or does not have good enough effort on the field. They have some objective criteria that they follow.
If managers lower the standard for some, in terms of their physical level, then others will also lower the standard. It is destructive in a performance culture.
(And I do not care if he has low body fat)
