Ahead of the tie, Rodriguez was speaking on his Twitch channel. And, in doing so, the midfielder suggested that he is unlikely to be involved against the Saints:

“There is a game on Saturday, but I don’t think I will play.”

On Tuesday, Rodriguez posted a tweet featuring a selfie accompanied by the caption 'Nunca dejes de career', which translates as 'never stop believing' in English (Athletico Madrid interest)

Those are the things that football has. The same thing happened to me. I go to Everton, practically because Ancelotti was there and look, now Carlo is gone.

The 30-year-old has openly admitted that he only signed because of his former manager so, despite the fact that he dresses his kids in Toffees gear, he probably holds no real affection for the club

How much evidence do you need to actually believe some of it. He's talented as I've said but needs to put a lid on it. You ask for quotes/evidence and I supply it, then you don't believe it.
It's because you and others don't want to and you just want the luxury of seeing him live at Goodison.
If he keeps his trap shut, works hard, yes, give him a go.

He's not said anything for 2 weeks. All he's done is train and put a photo of his kids on Instagram

Who mentioned the comment he made? He was tweeting adoring photos of his CL win with them a month before signing for us.

Hence he's a kopite.

He is a professional football manager and proud of his achievements. Does not look like a Kopite to me now

Maybe if we do manage to do what the club are still trying, and ship him off to Russia or Turkey despite having no replacement in (but apparently that's all because he wants to leave I suppose) then it'd come out in the wash.

Question. Why aren't the club doing more to ship 120k p/wk Gomes, 90-100k p/wk Delph, or 110k p/wk Tosun out of the club outside the UK transfer window? That'd free up a lot of money, wouldn't it.

If I was Doucoure and running my cahones off and pulling my tripe out I think I might be just a tad miffed to see James strolling around and failing to track runs and work back.
And that thought might just permeate through the team and affect the collective spirit that Benitez seems to have engendered.

this is ridiculous.. diferent jobs, diferent responsabilities... ah , and doucure didnt magically transform into a good midfielder... he still mediocre, cant pass for sh1t but hey i guess he can run!!.

I wonder if that's a response to Mina posting that picture yesterday with his chums smiling.

The only way a club in those leagues take him is if we subsidised 75%+ of his wages, which makes an absolute mockery of our financial situation.

Hope James comes out and says I want to play for Everton and am prepared to fight to get back in the team. I want to play in front of a full house at Goodison. Really put pressure on the club.

Thing is, as I've said all along, I really don't reckon he's arsed either way.

Maybe that's a sad state of affairs. But he's also been told we want to move him on and clearly Mendes was trying to set up the Porto thing.

It's all a two-way streak but as you say, the club still looking at any possible way to get him out even though that damages our squad in terms of personnel and quality says a lot more about the state of the club than James, IMO.

I've been saying it all summer, we're up the creek. We're skint. The money isn't there. This is more than just FFP.

If the club had done more to shift said players we'd be able to afford James, that's where it comes into play.

By that logic in the world that we live in now we cannot have any player whose profile is big enough to have a significant following on social media - so no or very few top tier players.

He played through an injury for months but when out injured, like Doucoure was last season, should be singled out and treated differently? I say differently as I have not seen posts of you and others vilifying Doucoure for being injured.
