2021/22 James Rodriguez

I agree that James at times talks more than he should on Twitch and at time he does behave like a spoiled child but it is up to a parent to correct such behavior. My blame on the Club is that you don't allow your spoiled child to do whatever they please. At times you have to say no and that's where Everton have gone wrong. They should have say no when he asked to leave early and they should have say no about him discussing the club on social media. The parent has to set the rules and expectations for a kid otherwise the spoiled child could become a rotten child.

BTW, Asprilla talks to much rubbish

i admit that i was winding you up….

Transfer windows closed and international football is on so it was a bit quiet.

the parenting analogy though….. you don’t have kids do you?? Haha….

Ps. Tino is a mad man

Who mentioned the comment he made? He was tweeting adoring photos of his CL win with them a month before signing for us.

Hence he's a kopite.

Anyone bothered by that is insecure in my opinion.

Couldn't care less if he wears LFC ball stranglers providing he actually works hard here.

Or we could get tru bloo Dunc and have us 15th but at least he is "one of us".

If he doesn't want to play here due to Benitez then what's the point in playing him this season, it will surely a half arsed James going through the motions now.
Leave him to his twitch streams.

Steady. Koeman got hounded out for having red xmas decorations.

As for Asprilla, if you had 3k's worth of pure fresh from the lab Colombian bugle up yer snout and a loaded gun in your hand you'd chat too much rubbish and all

Right, a few things here

Yes, James would probably, almost certainly, have wanted to leave as soon as Ancelotti left.

However, the club, because of our finances, also wanted to shift him. We went as far as trying to set up a convoluted swap, just to get his wages off the books.

So there's blame to be had to both parties. It's a two-way streak.

However, he is here, so now we use him, as @Sassy Colombian says, it would be arrogance in the extreme to think we are above a player of that quality at least being in the squad. A squad that, regularly, has two GKs and less than the alotted subs on the bench.

hahaha…. ‘A few things here’. Don’t you mean business…

all good mate. I think he and most footballers (especially at his level) get away with a lot and behave accordingly. We don’t know the ins and outs but these guys live very different lives to the rest of us and the hoops jumped through to appease some makes me queezy.

With the qualify he has it would be great to fit him into the squad - he offers so much. However as a general point I don’t think it’s arrogant for the club not to use any player if it risks the harmony or overall spirit or effectiveness of the team. Not saying it’s the case with James but there’s maybe an element of it. No doubt that some of his play last season was breathtaking.

That must be the one that someone has placed in your head as I can guarantee that James is not and has not slagged Everton off daily or at all.

Happy to proved wrong if you could provide clear and concise evidence.

Concise evidence? I don't have his twitch on record but its well known that hes talked about internal matters on twitch on various occasions.

Maybe Rafael will forgive him for what hes been doing. We will see over the next few weeks.

Have you got any examples or direct quotes please, mate?
"I don't even know who Everton plays with, if you can tell me please..." he said less than 48 hours before Everton face Leeds on Saturday.

Ahead of the tie, Rodriguez was speaking on his Twitch channel. And, in doing so, the midfielder suggested that he is unlikely to be involved against the Saints:

“There is a game on Saturday, but I don’t think I will play.”

On Tuesday, Rodriguez posted a tweet featuring a selfie accompanied by the caption 'Nunca dejes de career', which translates as 'never stop believing' in English (Athletico Madrid interest)

Those are the things that football has. The same thing happened to me. I go to Everton, practically because Ancelotti was there and look, now Carlo is gone.

The 30-year-old has openly admitted that he only signed because of his former manager so, despite the fact that he dresses his kids in Toffees gear, he probably holds no real affection for the club

“It was the coaching team's decision: I respect it, but I don't agree, because I was disrespected. One thing is for [Rueda] to say, 'I'm not taking you because I don't like you as a player'. If that's the case I can shut my mouth and leave.” (Columbia)

Tiredness - James Rodriguez felt "fatigued" after the Sheffield United game and so it was decided not to risk him tonight

I would suggest he's better closing his laptop, having a go as he's obviously talented and he might just impress both the Everton and Columbia manager and get into the team - not hard is it?

Calvert-Lewin
Gray James Richarlison
As a fluid attacked 3 behind Dom is very appealing, we have to play him now that he’s staying - immense talent

If I was Doucoure and running my cahones off and pulling my tripe out I think I might be just a tad miffed to see James strolling around and failing to track runs and work back.
And that thought might just permeate through the team and affect the collective spirit that Benitez seems to have engendered.

Well just thought there were some points in your post mate which were more conjecture. I honestly think no party (i.e. James, Benitez or Everton as a whole) are entirely to blame or blameless either.

I think James wanted to leave. But I also think Everton were (and by reliable reports still are even though we now can't get a replacement in) wanting him off the books. Benitez doesn't view him as a key player.

That's all fine. It's business as you say.

What isn't fine to me is why the club are in this mess. That's nothing to do with Benitez, and nothing to do with James. We knew what we were getting ourselves when he signed - a quality player who has delivered, but one who also has a very poor injury record. We were far too reliant on him last year and that's on the manager at the time.

That being said, the club's previous failings (under Walsh and Brands) mean we cannot afford a player with genuine world class ability who could prove to be the difference. The proof of this is that even though our window has shut, we are still trying to move him on, even though we couldn't get a replacement for at least four months (in a window our crackpot DoF famously doesn't see any value in, so not sure how that'd work).

The harmony of the squad wouldn't be impacted by James, by all accounts he's very popular with the group - and especially Mina and Rich and Gomes, they're good mates. I think he was also quite close with Sigurdsson (but, y'know).

I do fully agree that his integration cannot come at the expense of the system. That is fine. However, you can't get through a season just using one system or relying on one way of playing. How we played against Brighton is certainly not going to work against Burnley at home, for example, and as we saw in the Huddersfield game, when we're expected to take the onus in games and run them, we still look very, very average. That's where my arrogance comment came in, because there's no way James doesn't help in that regard.

OK, so you are just listening to hearsay and presenting it as fact. Great.
How much evidence do you need to actually believe some of it. He's talented as I've said but needs to put a lid on it. You ask for quotes/evidence and I supply it, then you don't believe it.
It's because you and others don't want to and you just want the luxury of seeing him live at Goodison.
If he keeps his trap shut, works hard, yes, give him a go.

Doucoure's job is literally to run around like a mad man - it's what he wasn't allowed to do enough of last year because even when James wasn't playing, Ancelotti insisted that Doucoure stay deep and play wide right of the centre.
