What are your thoughts on these holier than thou Evertonians who deserve so much respect chanting a death wish to a former manager because he left the club?

I was over the moon with him when he signed and would still love to keep him but it just isn't on the cards.

I said this when he took December off, I love him but he is a little maggot.

Good luck to him, he gave us some boss games so cant begrudge him a move.

I think I already made my thoughts plain on that.

And how has that got anything to do with Rodriguez...and are you saying that those who defend him cant also have chanted death threats against Carlo?

This is desperate stuff from you. I expect better.

McNeil is a good crosser. Happens to play on the left where Richarlison is gonna spend a lot of time unless we play 4-4-2 which isn't suited to our midfield options.

He played more passes/crosses into the box than any of the players last season, per 90, other than McNeil. So I'm not sure why he'd be unable to help us in that regard.

Remember that incredible ball he played to Richarlison in the first derby, when Richarlison hit the post? How about his cross in to Keane for the equaliser in that game, or the one to Mina in the Brighton game. How about the defence-splitting througball to Coleman in that Palace match? How about the brilliant pass out to Digne against Wolves (A), when he played in a 4-4-2 and did it really well, working hard as a striker in the middle of January?

Quality players can fit into systems. I don't think James should stay and start every game. I think he should stay and complement other players, and that we should focus on getting tosh out of the door, not actual quality. But no, this is Everton, we just give up when things are hard, waggle our finger at big clubs taking the p*** (though do nothing about it) and then do something nice for charity.
Hammy Rodz will never play for us again.
Bulbous Benny will keep him isolated with his jarg Covid cover story until Hammy can find another club as he has been requested to do.

Didn’t do himself any favours not clarifying the ‘tired’ comment and certainly not the absence v Wolves and the photo on the plane when we played City.

Fairly sure he couldn’t care less about all that though.

I'll have a look at those, is it in the Carlo thread?

My point is, I'm sick of seeing 'disrespecting the club' shouts, because quite honestly I don't think the club has done much recently to deserve any respect. That's not about Benitez, it's everything. I just don't like them much, or how they're run, and I think this need, because of financial issues, to get rid of a genuine quality player underlines how poorly we've been run. I'm frustrated that this is the case, because this summer should have been the one to push on.

Look, Everton are bigger than one player in that sense. I will support the team as I always have done. I'm just fed up of us being so haphazard and disjointed. And it's gutting that it's going to end in this way.

Nobody should begrudge James. We can say yes, he didn't always show the commitment we needed, and that's not on. We can also say he was very good for us when he was fit and that we shouldn't be revisionist about that fact. And there's no way just letting a player of his quality leave can be viewed as a good thing.

In the end, it might allow us to go and get a right-back or winger that we've needed for three years now - but they should have been here already, and our DoF should have ensured that we weren't scraping around.

That's my issue Dave. Hope i've lived up to your standards a bit better there.

What people need to get to grips with is the management will want reliability and people that can be trusted.

I totally get that certain players can be managed differently I. E Cantona, Ronaldo etc.. But they turned up week in week out.

I don't think James will and its really difficult to plan accordingly if he's avaliable one week but not the next.

I agree there. Carlo and the club - again - didn't help.

that Wolves game was a reflection of the entire issue for me. Yes, James takes his share of the blame, but Ancelotti should have insisted he was on the bench and the club should have ensured it too. We had 9 subs, so it wasn't like he was ever gonna have to be used.
