Yeah but the issue is with these changes is that the numbers being talked about at the moment with future FFP changes (70% of turnover) mean that we would still be in very serious trouble regardless of any of the stuff you have mentioned. Have to just wait and see, as none of us really know tbh.
New rules dont involve the threat of points deductions though do they?
not entirely clear what they are but my understanding is only punishment is a ‘tax’ when you exceed whatever the limits are iirc, whereas current rules are fines and potential points deductions plus transfer embargo’s. The last two could conceivably do more harm to us that fines.

You were not winding me up. I like to have a good debate, what I don’t like is poster calling our player demeaning names.

I sure do, I have a spoiled 10 year old daughter who at times thinks she can do whatever but that’s when the parent role is crucial.

loco=tino

demeaning names?

Labouring the point that he needs ‘parented’ rings hollow when you consider he’s a 30 year old man. If Benitez doesn’t play him, he won’t be the first manager not to rely on him.

Absolute class act on the pitch when fit.

Whose fault is that? His or the manager that's not playing him?

And you're one of the £200k a week brigade are you. Did you believe it when it was £90k a week when he first signed?
clearly not his fault. i didn't say it was. but he doesn't even have a clue who we play. for 90-200k a week i'm sure he could print off a fixture list

I'm not in any brigade. i have my own opinions.

Agreed. I think it's really hard for people to understand how to toxic the dynamic is between James and Rafael, the extent it has impacted James' career and how he is covered by the press.

For James, hearing that Rafael was Everton's choice is not just a slap in the face but terrifying. It's not just that Rafael doesn't want him, but that Everton must not want him anymore because they would clearly know that Rafael has no desire to have him.

All that said, James SHOULD have offered to take a massive pay cut (I mean each week the team allegedly transfer him 1% ownership of the club if you believe folks here) in order to get out elegantly and land at Milan. Apparently he didn't agree to go low enough to clear a proper exit so he has to live with the consequences. I just hope they aren't playing with the reserves or getting marooned on a loan to a relegation Turkish side.
It is those of us that got to witnessed their toxic dynamics in Madrid who really understand how betrayed and disposable James must have felt by Everton when they made the decision to hire Benitez. It must have been terrifying as James knows it meant no playing time and for James thats essential to be able to be considered for the NT again. Benitez hiring was a stabbed in the back and while at it Everton then decided to make James the poster boy for the Florida Cup only to turnaround once the tournament was over and put him back in the market. So while James has made some mistakes so has Everton with the way they have handled their highest pay footballer.

I also think James should take a massive pay cut, is not like he doesn’t have plenty of money but that’s when his ego comes into play and that’s one of my main criticisms towards his character. But if he didn’t agreed to take a pay cut to go to Milan there is no way he is going to be willing to take any deals to go to Turkey or even Russia, I just don’t see it happening.

NB this is re Prem League Profit and Sustainability rules not the UEFA FFP rules

Where has Phileas Fogg travelled to today then?

Wonder how much he'll be on tomorrow as I think he gets a pay rise every Monday, I'm going for 250k pw
He still seems to be somewhere sunny and maybe still pondering about his future as he was spending time with his friend Henrique Ramos, who is also one of Mendes associates.

I bet he is the one making sure that by Monday he is pushing the club for that 250k pay raise, that’s how he afford his big yachts ;)

Just been on there to see it for myself but couldn't find the piece you are referring to. Not sure if it were an article or a members post, but there's not much of either tbh.

Whatever the piece was, does it mention a source for the information or the players name who supposedly said rip up your contract. ? I guess not.

As I have just stated above it was in the Echo not RBm, comment wqas made by Willian.

Personally, I agree with that james is x-factor. I love watching him play.
there are stages of development we need to hit.
1 - qualify for uefa Europe. We need committed squad capable of producing consistency and difficult to beat. More signings like “Godfrey”
2 - adding some quality and having a decent uefa cup run. Qualifying Europe again.
3 - decent uefa cup run and potentially challenge the top four. Need to be looking a up and coming world names at this stage - signing like lukaku and richarlison.
4 - now we have built some pedigree and a solid squad - we need the x-factor signings like james Rodriguez.

we need to offer enough to x-factor signings to be committed and interested. And then means quality in the squad, sustainable progression.
Let’s face it james and Coleman on the right would be tageted by every team we face.
Aye, we needed to find a young Coleman this window but failed.

Not that I am trying to or would denigrate Coleman, he is and always has been an absolute pro. Blue blood to the core.
