He'd never go far back as Gomes is prepated to do.

I'm no fan of Gomes but him over James all day long.

Say what you want about James but Gomes sole purpose in life is to give the ball away, that sitter he had James would have put that away no questions

Well maybe I'm a fool but I believe Benitez would include him if he gave the slightest indication he had any interest in playing for our club and would put the effort in.

Hopefully he does that in the training sessions to come as he still obviously has quality we would benefit from or it will be a long season for him.

I don't believe Benitez is against having a player of his kind, but he will need to show a level of commitment first

It can go one of two ways. He either barely plays another game for us, which would be a shame given how paper thin our squad is and how good James can be.

Or.. Benitez manages to get him playing how he wants and we get even better as a team.
