I'm hoping James gets the nod for the QPR game. The lad needs to work his way back into the first team for the Premier League games and can't expect to play just because he's 'James' and has decided to give us another go. Really want to see him feature for us this season, but he has to earn his place.

Everton boss Rafael Benitez talking to BBC Sport:"It was a good game, very physical. It was not easy but overall we were ok.
"When we scored our goal, we had more confidence, played 4-3-3, created more chances and could have scored more goals.
"Really pleased with the connection between the team and the fans. We are looking to build a fortress here.
"Both Demarai Gray and Andros Townsend have quality and are good pros. They are keen to learn, even Andros at his age. The main thing in this team, everyone said we needed wingers. Today Richarlison did a great job also and the two wingers helped the striker do better.
"Dominic Calvert-Lewin broke his toe, was playing with pain, now he has a problem with his quads and we have to see."
On James Rodriguez: "It doesn't change too much, we are talking about strikers and wingers. Nobody can argue about the quality of James but he is behind the others."

If he thinks he’s behind Iwobi we definitely aren’t going to see him in the squad this season unless needs must.

It’s getting very difficult for James now with how well we are playing, the whole situation could make James look a bit silly. I hope though he listens to Rafael and takes Rafas game on board and give it a go if and when he gets a chance. But in reality we certainty don’t need him atm.

Hopefully his time will come once someone sorts his head out. I did agree with someone who said the Burnley ruffians were not ideal to play him against. Perhaps nice Norwich will suit him better.

The best he can hope for at the moment is a place on the bench, say though if we start doing the impossible and stay near the top, would he then become interested, I think I read somewhere he said we weren’t good enough for him (could be media talk) well he can thank his mate Carlos for us he made a right mess of things. I know it’s early days but I feel massively more confident with Rafael in charge than Ancelotti.

There’s not really a position for him, the players currently playing are much more suited to Rafas style, James is to slow and doesn’t do the work needed to get in a Rafael team,

Clearly will have to earn his way back into the team. If it ain’t broke you don’t fix it and right now the players ahead of him are in form. If he gets a chance he better show what he’s got or else he may have to be satisfied with the bench until January

Iwobi has been more than fine this season.

If James does more than fine and get a game, then even better.
Training videos I’ve seen him in he looks quite happy here, money may help. But surely he must want to play, his problem is he can’t walk into the team like when ever he wanted like last season. Tbh atm he probably couldn’t get on the bench.
