The ones that are insistently backing him to play.

Do you want him to play despite his flaws in the team? Or another way do you believe his attacking gifts warrant the need to cater for his flaws?

I think his attacking positives out weigh his defensive negatives. In the right line up he will make the difference. If he's in a team of slow players his positives are dulled so he then possibly shouldn't play. However with teams pushed further back by the extra pace this will mean he has more space to operate. His flaws are his lack of pace but no one criticised Sheedy and his lack of tracking back If you can keep the ball which James should help tracking back isn't so important.

Everyone has flows, mate. There are no perfect people. I want him to play, because he is one of our best players.

Do James haters think our team is better without him?

Noel whelan (had to research who he was) says he is bleeding the club dry due to his £250k a week wages and is showing us a massive disrespect by refusing to take a pay cut and refusing to play and will have cost the club £24m by the end of his contract.

I'll be honest, noel whelan is a nobody so it means nothing but also, if he costs 24m for 2 years, that's still a better deal than most of the players we have bought in the last 5 years.

Also looks like more media briefing anyway as his wages have seemingly risen again and now it's him refusing to take a pay cut to leave and refusing to play (zero evidence of any of that anywhere). More evidence of him actually training and benitez refusing to play him.

Noel Whelan knows his onions tbf

He's a trouble maker and the manager doesn't trust him.
He isn't a trouble maker whatsoever. He's got on with his job and trained.

The manager clearly doesn't trust him to leg it back 40 yards every time but a good team shouldn't have to do that. A good team wins the ball back in midfield and gets on the front foot - like we did yesterday in the last 30 mins. Credit to Benitez for spotting the right change to make.

Noel Whelan quite literally knows nothing

There's a reason he works for 'football insider'

It's not just that though and you know it.

He had the chance to move to Turkey the other week with us paying half of his wage so he wouldn't have dropped salary. He didn't want to go.

The club are desperate for him to leave because we're up the creek financially. That's on us.

It's completely a two-way streak. He's training just like the rest of them, he should be selected in the squads while he's here and fit.
He doesn't want to be here now that Carlo has gone. I doubt the validity of that story. If any club in a top 5 league had offered for him and he'd not lost any pay, he'd be gone.
