he's not playing him because he doesn't fit into Benitez style or way of playing it's not rocket science whether you agree with it or not, Rodriguez would have had 10 shades kicked out of him yesterday and wouldn't have done anything.

Thanks Sherlock

He's not been played first two games cos he was in isolation. Third game we were in talks with Porto.

Nobody is asking for him to be chucked straight into the team. He should always be in a matchday squad if he is available. Our depth isn't good enough to ignore him and he's here until January.

It depends on the amount of Quality for the first statement ... The second it's true. To counter attack You NEED either speed with the ball or a long pass to an Open receiver .

James can be efective from Many ways or positions . He hadnt súper pace with Colombias NT back in 2014 or 2018 (he had cuadrado and thats it, but he had a pretty technical team) .

Everithing Gomes does , James does it better ..
SO he could play closer to Allan, as he did under heynckes at Bayern (he played alonside Javi Martínez there ).. but what ever , the dude won't Even touch the pitch aa long Benítez keeps winniing ..

Well that combined with the fact he's clearly not arsed and clearly not committed to the club. When you're in a management position and you're trying to stamp your authority and cultivate a "give your all" spirit you cannot afford to play a lad who stands against that.

You don't drop them.

You also don't play 5 at the back - one of the CBS goes to accommodate James or Gomes, who did great when coming on last night.

We looked better all over the park after that. James could play ahead of Doucs and Allan, between the lines causing the oppo all kinds of problems.
