He wouldn't have been on half pay. We were going to cover half of his wages. He'd have been getting full pay.
He'd have had to take a pay cut to join Porto but Porto moved the goalposts on that deal anyway. We'd have still sent James to them regardless of Diaz, but Porto were never going to sell us Diaz in the end. They asked for €68m

You don't grow up playing footy in Colombia and not know how to fight and battle, especially being as skillful as this fella - he's had lumps booted out of him for years, which hasn't helped his injury record.

Problem for James mate is Benitez, Zidane and Colombia's manager have all not put trust in him.
James fan club can keep blaming Benitez but at some point they need to ask the question as to why a player as talented as him isn't loved by most managers he works with.
For me he's like a good number of our squad - decent off the bench when the opposition are tiring but not physically mobile/quick enough to play 90 minutes and offer enough going forward AND defensively.

Burnley started the better team but I thought we needed the half stronger and unlucky not to be up at half time. Yes it was a potential banana skin but we won and controlled the game pretty much at 3-1 and seen the game out well. We would normallly lose that type of game from a goal so am I satisfied. Yes but we can do better.
Bet there’s a few simps on here that throw money at him on Twitch.
